Ah, the internet and accountability. So many people don't understand that the two do go together. I've made my LJ friends only just for the reasons you mentioned above, but yahell groups have taught me that you can't get away from the idiots who think hiding behind a computer screen makes them invincible and all-knowing. It's good to know that there are still souls out there who understand that you have to claim what you say, be it verbally, in ink or electronically.

I can relate a lot to your entry... and I love the word "quaint." ;)

I also rarely post privately, although I've become a lot more regular in friends-locking entries as of late... just to keep the drama at bay. And, I'm also just as introverted as extroverted. I think LJ tends to embellish everyone's extroverted side, though, since you get to do it from the confort o your own keyboard.

yeah I had some drama in here a while ago, created by anonymous users ... I think I successfully fended that off, though. I'm loath to make my LJ friendsonly because I have a dear friend who reads me -- without an account. I could ask her to make one, I suppose, but ... well, I've tried and have been unsuccessful so far. Not sure why.
