Whoa! You are still the reigning queen of apocafic, my dear.

*loves*

You know, I'm currently going through the crack_van SG-1 memories (after just having finished the SGA mems LOL) and most of what I'm coming across is Jack/Daniel, which I like. Don't get me wrong. But it's really refreshing to read another pairing than that, especially when written by your deft hands. I think Teal'c is such a cool character; I'd like to read fic that pairs him with everyone so thanks for this.

Awwww! Thanks so much :D You know how happy that makes me feel.

You know, I wasn't particularly into SG-1 in a fandom (ie reading/writing fic) for a long time. The popular pairing of Jack/Daniel didn't really do it for me. But then Cameron came along, and there was all this chemistry and glee between him and Teal'c, and I was basically just all over that with much, much joy. So, yay! I'm glad that you like it :D

And I've only seen one ep of SG-1 with Ben Browder in it, so I haven't yet experienced the chemistry myself, but I can imagine it. CJ and BB are both yummo, so... LOL ( ... )

The actors are great, and then there's this ridiculous 'OMG! You're Teal'c!' fanboy vibe that Mitchell has in season 9 that basically made me think, Must Write Slash Now. I mean, the eyefucking. Seriously.

when one pairing dominates a fandom, I get bored after awhile

Oh, yes. I have to admit that I'm deeply, deeply bored with McKay/Sheppard. I will read them with just about anyone one else (well, slash anyway), but I really need to take a break from that particular pairing.

And, I know it goes against the SG-1 fandom grain, but I never liked Daniel *quails*.

What if Caldwell did it with Sheppard?

ARGH! MY EYES. Also - very good question. I haven't ever seen that pairing, either.

Shouldn't Radek be doing it with everyone on the expedition?

Yes.

What about Teyla and Elizabeth?

Totally doing it. It's a way to destress after being surrounded by foolhardy men all the time (kind of like Inara and the councillor!).

Teal'c is one of those characters that hasn't been written about very much ( ... )

Oooh, that last line. The sense of stasis and transition coexisting, like a suspended note that will never resolve. The weirdly, creepily ominous civilians hanging around the buried gate, their behavior hinting at an eventual uprising against the military, which can only end badly for them. The delicious scene on the clay shore. Lines like it is perhaps bad taste to point out the flaws of a culture that is dying and he wonders if the stars outline his form, or if Mitchell is caught only by the light of their fire. The unremitting greyness. The descriptions of the sky, the landscape. The amazing Teal'c pov -- how he observes, and endures, and does his part, and is not surprised. The beautiful ways he and Mitchell come together.

I can now say that the prompt was mine (found picture at The Morgue File), and this is exactly what I hoped for without knowing it. Thank you. :-)

I suspected that this was your prompt (because when I looked at the picture to refresh my sense of it, I noticed it was in your scrapbook!). I'm really, intensely happy and relieved that you like the story that came out of your prompt. I'm especially happy you liked the clay shore scene, because it is a re-work of a scene that I originally wrote from Cameron's POV when I thought I might take the story in a whole different direction. So I wasn't quite sure if it flowed well with the rest of it.

And so, so very happy that you liked the Teal'c POV. It was a lot of fun writing it, and I'm glad it worked. Thanks so much!

Excellent tone of voice. And wonderful bleakness. Really beautifully written. And yay for Teal'c POV. You did a great with it (as well as Cam's dialog). Perfectly in character.

Thanks so much! I'm really glad the Teal'c POV worked for you - I've only rarely written Teal'c POV, and it's such a relief to know that it sounds right.

Oh, this is so good. I love this line:

Some might ask what meaning lies in the loss of one more home. Teal'c does not vocalise such questions.

Solid, practical Teal'c, even when the world is ending.

That line was one of my favourites, so it's awesome that it works for you! Thank you so much for letting me know what you think!
