I'm assuming so -- hasn't she been doing theatre work with a Southern accent? Even though I don't follow TB at all, I am excited for all of the sure-to-be-gorgeous screencaps that will come out of this... but, I'll be honest, I'm slightly nervous. I usually get so much discomfort/annoyance/secondhand embarrassment when hearing TV Southern accents. Sad but true: a large part of my love for characters like Dr. McCoy or John Crichton is their legit Southern accents. MMM, DELISH. But, whatever, I love Lara and am so happy for her to have bagged this. :D
You know, after Sarah's TERRIBLE "Boston" accent I don't think much will phase me. Does DeForrest Kelly (unless you mean KU?) have a southern accent? I admit, I don't notice them unless they are Lousiana-style thick, because I grew up in a city that's got half-Midwestern and half-Southern accents ; )
OMG. O.M.G!!!! YES! Far, far too cool! But...a fairy?
Though I didn't see it (but I wanted to), yes, in the musical she was in ("Parade") she was supposed to be a southern woman, married to a New York Jew who had come south. She must have been good, as I read she was the only cast member from the London company who was asked to transfer to L.A. Then again, it was a scaled down version, in a smaller house, but still...EXCELLENT venue. And she was nominated (did she win?) for an award for it in London right? So..... Sounds as if her accent was far better than that ghastly Spooks "Sarah" - THANK GOD! ;-) Thank you so much for the news!
