One of the regular contributors to a short story Murder mystery magazine I read sets their stories in a dystopian slightly-in-the-future climate-change-affected Florida. It isn’t much of a stretch of the imagination, based on your descriptions.
After arriving at Key West, i can think of nothing else. I kinda hate it here, much more than i thought i would. I hope to find something cool, since i am stuck here for 3 days. Miami accommodation is also very expensive, so i'm not sure i can afford to make that my longer-term base for figuring out the next steps, but at least i feel like i'd be getting my money's worth.
