Firstly, let us all take a moment to appreciate the fine lyrical genius of Salt N Pepa's 1993 masterpiece, "Whatta Man", the Bechdel-strangling powerhouse ballad performed with nineties flash-paper early Destiny's Child predecessor, En Vogue:
What a man, what a man, what a man what a mighty good man

And you hit it on Miss Thang (I love that) and her writing. I genuinely love this episode, loved how everyone involved pulled together and supported her to get it done, loved Rhiannon like crazy beans, and now with your words bouncing in my head, I will reread it this weekend, and pay attention to that now that I can relax and just enjoy it.
I love so much seeing works pulled together. I adored, adored being part of your episode, and getting to observe from pretty much the beginning how it evolved. Same with this one--omg I think I get high over watching process or something. Could it be? I think so! Happily, I've now got a lot to fuel my new addiction. :)

iT WAS REALLY REALLY NEAT WATCHING IT EVOLVE, and I think if the VS taught me anything, it was that comraderie that we all got from getting all up in each other's shit. THE BIG BANG IS GOING TO ROCK.

It is a real amazing thing to watch. I imagine it had to be difficult for Miss Thang to write so exposed to so many, but she chose her helpers wisely...it was rather lovely to see, and everyone brought their own good stuff to it. That was fun. Hee hee I liked seeing what I caught that Anya didn't, smacked my head when you would go WAIT and groan when Blue would say OKAY BUT...or Xtricks would say Hmmm... maybe this... and WHEE! It was spiffy fun. I loved it. Ha ha. And of course N's comments. I love when he gushes over stuff. LOL.
Bounce bounce can't wait to reread it--argh! SO MUCH TO READ AND WRITE THIS WEEKEND!!!! I suppose I should clean the kitchen once too huh. And mop. Argh.

Best excuse ever for over-brewing. I bet even Ianto would have accepted it as reasonable. Although I REALLY hope that's not the reason stuff is always over-brewed at the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.

Well. Actually. I'm drinking cheap half-caf. I'm sure there's a sin somewhere. It's branded as "Balance".
Then I had a sudden desire to see JB/GDL first-time-seduce-the-straight-boy-to-sex fic. Whoa yeah.
I second the rec for Jenny's ep because there are so many moments of awesome in it and I like the subtlety she uses in her dialogue, and the seeding of the Spice Girls pay-off moment is awesome.

With the humour. I study you for this, and I'll be studying her for this. So much of my writing is nonfic, and so much of that is habitually focused on being very plainly clear that I don't leave enough out to make room for funny when I should. Because that's what humour takes, right? An implication gathered until it snaps into place. It's about what you don't say as much as what you do say. But then sometimes I leave out too much too. Hence the studying.

I think Buffy taught me a lot about timing, and not being afraid to take it to the stupid place, because that was how you got wit in some ways. I don't want to ref Jenny's fic without spoiling it, but i will say that when you get to the cabbage patch line, that's pretty much what I'm talking about.
