Feels like fall already

I got some horrible news about an old high school friend today. She has been diagnosed with breast cancer.  She still has a myriad of other testing to see how far it's gotten and so there is a great deal of hope--but still, stuff like that stops you in your tracks. She has two adorable little boys, 8 and 6, and she is only 42 years old. Man, it ( Read more... )

Oh, sweetie. *hugs* I will definitely remember your friend in my prayers. Breast cancer treatment has come so far nowadays. Most people are able to beat it. I hope they caught it early with her!

And I hope you get your yearly screening done, lovey. I want to keep you around for a long, long time!

Yeah I go in. It's a crappy, uncomfortable procedure, but I'll bet mammograms are what detected my friend's cancer in it's early stages, thank goodness. There is lots of hope for her situation, I know. I just really feel for her.

:-( I know. I had a friend who recently completed a year-long treatment and my sister has a good friend whose just begun. Your friend will never be the same. But hopefully she'll find a reason in all of this and will come out stronger on the other side.

On a completely unrelated note, are you watching Glee? I haven't watched it yet. Should I be watching Glee?

Glee is pretty good. I loved the pilot but now there is a Desperate Housewives-y subplot that is dumb to me. The kids are mega talented and I really like the Glee Club teacher. It's worth a watch.

So sorry about your friend... it hits so much harder when it's someone you know. She'll be in my prayers.

Dieting sucks ass. So does exercise. Why can't we all just be plump and happy with it? I don't get it.

Good luck with the starvation.

So sorry to hear about Janna! We all take our good health for granted, right up until something happens to us. I'm also enjoying the Dan B. book, but it's like he doesn't want to sway away from his formula for writing a book...B&B had free shipping!

Listen 5 lbs is A LOT...keep it up you are doing good. How can you survive on 900 calories a day?

Keep up informed about Janna.

Chris,
Sorry it has been awhile since I've read anyone's blog - I'm sorry about your friend - how progressed is her cancer? I know how it feels - I just lost my friend Chad last week to cancer... ugh
btw - 5 lbs in 2 weeks is great - what are you doing? Maybe we can help keep each other going - if I ever get started...
Love ya,
Liz

Liz you look great, plus you exercise and play soccer and stuff. I need to start exercising. I was just cutting my portions by about 1/2 or even 2/3 to cut back on calories (and no sugar and very few carbs) but today I didn't do so well. :(

I think my friend caught hers fairly early. I'm sorry to hear about your friend Chad, it seems like everyone these days has a brush with cancer or knows someone who has it, it really sucks.

Good to hear from you! I have been crap about keeping up with blogs, too.

XOXO Chris

Chris I'm so sorry about your friend. I hope everything works out okay for her.

And stop starving yourself! You look great. Eating healthier I guess is never a bad thing, but don't make yourself miserable!

I'm really loving Glee and The Office. So. much. good tv right now, I'm overwhelmed! Zach is very concerned about Joan's return to Mad Men, as I'm sure Mike is. Maybe they should lean on eachother for support.

I have the Don and Betty Vanity Fair and some bubble bath (?) both from my mom that I've been meaning to bring over to you!

No I don't look great, but, I have yet to find a program that works for me to lose weight. Ugh my body type and my age work against me like crazy, but...that is another topic for another day.

Yes, Glee is just pure fun (don't you love the teacher??) and Mad Men is excellent so far. Mike is concerned about Joan as well. I wish Don would steal her away to work for him.

No rush on the VF and the bubble bath...stop by any time.
