First of all I can't quit laughing at "salad tongs" only a mother would think so quickly. Second of all I want to make a proclamation about my divine sister CHRIS. She was the only sibling to stay after the wedding/reception (and the only one to actually ASK) if I needed help. She said the look on my face said it all. She was a trooper and stayed with us until midnight helping stack chairs and collect presents. It was not fun at all, we were all tired and FUSSY. On another topic, she told me how excited Abby was to be a flower girl, beyond excited, CHRISTMAS excited. So when Abby got home from school Chris had prepared a "spa" for her, with a warm tub ready and candles etc...after which Chris spent a good hour I'm sure doing her hair in perfect ringlets. I get emotional when I think about what an excellent mother and sister she is. She loves Erica almost as much as I do....I just couldn't imagine my life without her...she has shared almost every milestone with me and cared probably more than any other person I know. Love you so ( ... )

Would you quit thanking me for staying after to help!! I was glad to, because, YOU would do the same for me, and not only that, find 10 other people to help as well. So shut it, I was glad to be there to do it and glad to be a part of Caca's big day.
I just told Mom about the mouse and the salad tongs, she was laughing her arse off. :)

So... you pretty much have the most gorgeous family ever, then?

Those pics are fantastic, Chris. She is such a stunning, glowing bride. Congratulations to her and her new husband. I wish them all the best!

And could Abby and Camille be more beautiful? I don't think so.

I'm definitely with you on the end of the year projects and concerts and sports, as well. I've been swamped at work between science projects, tests, Natalie's golf, Frankie's basketball, PJ's teeball and soccer... I'm tired talking about it! lol

I'm so sorry about the difficulties you're having with your mom and that whole situation. Hopefully, once everything is squared away, some sense of peace and normalcy will return. You're handling it so well, Chris. It's really admirable.

I love the whole mouse and tongs episode. Though it makes me think of Ratatouille for some reason. Haha. Ew.

As for the reading, I'm reading The Host right now and I'm enjoying it so far, but I definitely agree that it still reads like YA. I think she'll mature as she continues, what ( ... )

I love your long comments, Callie! And I just read your post, I'm sorry you're having a crappy time right now since school is out. I'm sure your grades will be something to be proud of though.

I didn't read that Hornby book based on your rec, I found it at a second hand book store and was excited because he is usually one of my favorite writers. I don't know, I think I have been switching subject matter in books so drastically that I have whiplash--Afghanistan, sci-fi, suicide pacts, murder mystery, it makes my head spin. I think I read his book right after the one on Afghanistan and the writing seemed trite and hollow after that. The subject matter was very interesting and the development of the characters was enjoyable, I don't know, it just didn't move me. And I usually love him as a writer.

Anyway, I have commented back with the second longest comment!

*hugs*

Aw your niece looked beautiful! One of my friends that's getting married this summer is also using yellow and white as her colors, her theme is daisies :D

And I LOVED The Road. I read it in one day haha.

I love daisies! Yes, her colors were navy blue and yellow and they were stunning together, everything was beautiful. She has great taste. Maybe I need to re-read The Road later when my expectations aren't so high. All my favorite people loved it. :)

Thank you for the update!!!

What would we do without sisters???? When Ashley got married, Kristin came and stayed with me (long after everyone left) the night before the wedding getting the damn room decorated... hanging dozens of sparkly butterflies from the ceiling, positioning trees, etc... we were there til 1am! And the night of the wedding, she (and my mom, bart and grandma) worked like dogs in the kitchen - because NONE the stupid relief society ladies who said they would help with serving showed up!

Chris, I LOVE hearing how you made being a flower girl so special for Abby. What a great mom : )

Getting your mom moved and settled will be a challenge, but life will start to feel like normal once you do.

I can't wait to hear your full review on Eat, Pray, Love....

Bless Kristin's heart...I can totally see her helping out like that. Weddings are SO much work, aren't they? Even after you have hired people doing lots of stuff, there's still more. I admire you mother's of the brides making your daughter's day perfect. I have two girls weddings to look forward to...

Yes, Eat, Pray, Love really has been my favorite book I've read lately. And there were even more books I've read besides the ones I listed. It just held my attention from the first word, I really admire that woman's will to live, literally. She eats life up with a spoon, and makes amazing friends.

Good to hear from you, Allison!

Chris thank you for the sweet words. And thank you for all your help at the wedding!! I think I threw a couple of orders your way amidst the chaos so thank you for putting up with me. It was so fun to have you there at every event, it wouldn't have been the same without my favorite aunt, thank you so much. I love you!!

LOL to the salad tongs.

I am making a list of books to read and will have to take your recommendations. I had no desire to read Eat Pray but I guess I'll have to give it a chance. Sounds like The Host is kind of what I expected. Her writing isn't great but I like her stories.

Can't wait to see you tomorrow!

So glad you are back, Caca!! And so glad I could help in any feeble way at the wedding. I felt like a nuisance (but still didn't leave, of course) but was in awe of how pretty you and your bridesmaids and your Mama were and how beautiful everything was. Thanks for letting me bust in like that.

Have fun opening gifts today!!!
