One of the things MIL is waiting for me to do is replace a nonstick dutch oven, the nonstick coating on which she believes has worn too much. [deleted bitching about cookware] So I thought I'd look at open stock pieces (rather than sets with the obligatory One Quart Saucepans of Doom).

Amazon sells fondue sets. I love cheese fondue. Allyson hates

Solution: I need to come visit you, and we will go to Melting Pot and get cheese fondue and chocolate fondue. Problem solved. :)

Hmm. Is Alex *really* too young to trust around a fondue? Haven't done it with Colin, but am expecting to next month when we're away, probably. OK, wouldn't leave him alone with it... but it's white! Wouldn't doing one for you and her and your father answer? Maybe melting it all together and then separating a little pot off for your mother to dip vegetables in, if possible?

Re the Chinese home cooking every night, no it doesn't sound wonderful, I couldn't stand it - don't feel guilty about not loving it! And fah on the very subtle insults.

Hmmm. "The Melting Pot's newest locations now feature special fondue pots that are not warm if children touch them." So maybe Alex would enjoy it. After all, she'll eat cheese. Or maybe I'll try to do some homemade this weekend.
