It's Friday and apparently, a holiday. The thing with freelance and bonking around between two jobs is that you're never QUITE in the loop. So I'm sitting alone in a lonely office working on the Dumbest Video Ever, courtesy of my "managers" who forgot to tell me that the thing was going to be shown on Monday morning, thus allowing me to work late

Your 'managers.' They're crap. I know you already know that, but it bears repeating.

I remember the hamster on the wheel feel of having a regular job. Not having a regular job replaces that with a slightly terrifying freefall feeling, which is actually less unpleasant than hamsterville.

Anyone who can vid has my respect. It seems as complicated as quantum physics to me. :)

Vidding has a certain "are we launching a satellite" aspect to it. There are lots of little buttons and lines and numbers and ACK. I know Final Cut, but I literally opened Soundtrack Pro and lost my mind.

Unemployment is definitely a freefall, high-pressure situation. Less unpleasant, but in a totally different way. Since my jobs are impermanent I have both the hamster wheel feeling and the imminent freefall feeling... although I have been handling that pretty well considering my usual state of being. I guess I have to be proud of that and take the ups with the downs.

I often think that managers don't understand what managing is. Which is... I don't even know.

Your emails have been soooo helpful. I went back to read the bit about Audacity and I felt so much better when you said, "yeah, audio is tough" and so on. I can't wait to have something to send/show you. You know you're my vid-beta, right?

Oh, he's growing and kicking so much and I'm running out of room in my body for him. 9 weeks to go! THIS IS VERY SCARY STUFF.
