Yesterday - pottery, breasts, 'architec-porn', and castle communes

The entire of the pottery class are now convinced that I'm a breast-fixated lesbian, thanks mostly to mcwoof being a complete wind-up merchant. I can't remember the last time I ever blushed soo much, and I was laughing so hard, it brought tears to my eyes. I would *love* to live in a castle commune. Wasn't there a TV series recently about an extended family doing the same? I think that was in a stately home, but same difference really. No money at the moment, though. Ask again in a few years :)

Sadly, I rather expect that will be most people's response just now, certainly Amy said the same when I brought it up over lunch. Not that I'm particularly flush at present either!

Well, obviously I wasn't planning on acepting just anybody, and people having their own private space is an important thing too, but yes, i suspect it does take a particular sort of person to want to do such a thing.

Yeah, i think taking on an ancient monument would be a step too far, but there are plenty of castles in Scotland that aren't as old or in such bad condition... ;)

Somebody recently built a castle from scratch near where I live. It looks very convincing. Guess that is the low-hassle way to live the castle dream!

Hmmm, if I was to build from scratch, I think I'd go for a timber frame type thing. A castle just wouldn't feel the same if it was new...
