Busy busy busy

This will be an entry without pictures. That's because I haven't taken any yet and I'm feeling too tired tonight to drag out the camera. It has been a very busy week since my last updating. I have finished the trim work on the chemise for now, I am pondering the idea of adding more, but until I get the bodice done and can see how it looks with ( Read more... )

Boy, give a girl some projects, and watch them get done! I look forward to sampling your various cordials. *grin* They sound very yummy.

I'm very impressed that you've got some fabric already cut up for your new gown. I have been a real slacker when it comes to getting started on mine. So many ther projects/things to do too! Mabye this weekend I'll get the corset made. I think that's a very reasonable goal. Good luck with your beading!

I would theoretically like to get two or three different dresses done this winter. Of course I have at least six in my head that I'd like to do eventually. Always with the projects for clothes. :)

I think I might be done with cordials for a little bit. Although I do have some vodka and brandy to use up, so I may be forced to try something else.

I also need to get started on my jewelry making. Since I haven't found any cheap Elizabethan jewelry out there, I'm going to try my hand at making some for myself. I'm hoping that it goes smoothly.

Your sewing project sounds quite ambitious. It's a good thing you have someone to help. She should be able to help you with fitting, something people cannot do for themselves.

As far as putting trim on the chemise, only put it on where it will show. That's what they did historically, as far as I have found been able to find out.

The dress that I want to do is modeled after the one in my user icon. I'm hoping that it turns out ok. This is a first time attempt at this style for both of us, but the patterns I bought seem to be very complete and easy to use. So that is a happy thing.
From the portraits that I've seen, I agree with you on the way that chemises were decorated. That's why I'm waiting to add more until I get the bodice fitted. I can always add more, but it is terribly frustrating to take it off!
