9.9; Yeah if you're used to reading/watching only action-based plots then shoujo's gonna seem really slow and weird and overly dramatic/romantic. XD; I don't know of this particular manga you speak of--that is I haven't read it, you cna't go anywhere around here without seeing wall scrolls of it o.O--but that sounds about right. 'Aah! Ohmigawd! You're really my guardian person and I only have the hots for you because we're both magic and magic attracts people OMG OMG I love this other guy now but he's magical too I wonder if that means he doesn't love me aaaaah what will I do I'm about 10 years old but I'm in love and I think the first guy I was in love with is gay and dating my brother but aaargh he's my guardian he's genderless but he doesn't REMEMBER being my guardian when he's just my brother's "friend" and he dies if he doesn't have enough magic WHAT WILL BECOME OF LOVE?!' ...that's Cardcaptor Sakura. =B And I was like...'o.o Dude, you're ten. XD;; Yeah, that's a feeling I get when reading most manga.

Shoujo: >.6 Just slap each other in the face and STOP WHINING ABOUT IT, ALREADY! Stop emo-ing about if they care or not!

Shounen: >.6 Just sit down and TELL EACH OTHER why you're mad, already! Stop getting into pointless fights!

=B That's kinda why my favorite series are Sailor Moon and Tenchi Muyo. They both have the elements of both shoujo and shounen if you look at 'em. I mean SM is really girly with the pink and the skirts and the boy troubles, but really the romance is usually not central to the plot. o.o It's something that happens alongside the superhero storyline with saving the world. And the plots move at about the right pace, not wasting a bunch of time either on gratuitous fighting or gratuitous wondering-if-he-likes-me. Meanwhile Tenchi's got the shoujo-ish stuff with all the girls wanting Tenchi to date them, and their feelings, but at the same time we get SPACE BATTLES, kung fu temple priests, and general mayhem. The girlfights aren't usually the only thing going on in an episode, but neither is the yelling and fighting of the villain. Plus it's effin' funny. =B

Yeah it's INSANELY popular o_o; But, once again, my favorite character is one of the side characters who not many people seem to care about--including the author XD;;; But, basically, it's about this family who's cursed to turn into the animals of the Chinese Zodiac if they get... "hugged by a member of the opposite sex". 9.9
