[In the middle of the store, there's a rather big man surrounded by the Superman comics. He seems to be reading them all. Don't worry though, workers- he'll certainly pay for it! He was raised right and he certainly knows this is not a library. And yes Kents, daddy is spending a lot of his hard-earned money on this.

No, I didn't, but come in for a bit, I still have some copies of the map here.

[ Just going to bring him in the house and put a glass of tea in his hand. ]

Did you get the pamphlet?

[And Clark lets himself be tugged around, and curls his fingers around the warm tea. He always would rather have a glass of milk, but he's been told against it in this city.]

Ah, no. I believe I didn't.

[ Ilsa gives him an old copy of the pamphlet and a map of the town and motions to sit at the table. ]

Here's the map... [ She marks a few places on the map ] these are the spots where doctors and healers are, if you get hurt and can't get to the church or hospital.

The dairy products at the store are all right, and keep an ear tuned to the phones.

[He smiles at her, holding everything she gives to him]

Ah- wow, this is extremely nice of you. I don't really know what to say.

[ Ilsa shrugs, smiling. ] You seem like a guardian to me, and we need to work together to get everybody out. I'm Ilsa, by the way.

I'm Clark. Clark Kent. It's a pleasure, Miss Ilsa, and I'll gladly help anybody who tries to get us out of this place.

I'm all for keeping us sane until we get out. The things the town throws at us occasionally make it difficult.

[ She shakes her head. ] Halloween is coming up, and the kids want to go trick-or-treating. I'm going along with Harley to help guard them, in case things get dangerous.

[Harley... Quinn?

Oh.]

Are you sure that's a good idea, Miss Isla?

I'd say if anyone tried anything with one of the kids in town, Dr Quinzel might not leave anything to be found of the attacker. She relates well to the youngsters, and Halloween seems to be her favorite time of year.

[ Ilsa frowns, and tilts her head to the side. ]

I've heard some stories about her past, but she's also been here two years, according to the others who have been here as long. That can change a person.

I suppose so.

[And he has always been up to reforming, so...] And the kids do deserve to have some fun during the holidays.

Especially the way this town treats holidays.

[ She visibly shakes off the mood, and smiles. ]

Ah, well - prepare for the worst and hope for the best, my grandmother would say.

...So I've heard, which is kind of sad in my opinion. But your Grandmother was a wise woman, I totally agree.

Here, my hope is put to the test, but sometimes it's rewarded.

[ Ilsa chuckles a bit. ] And I occasionally get surprised into over-preparation.
