Summary: It is even warmer inside the bank which Watson has to scout for Holmes.

Watson can only shake is head in fond amusement, as Holmes shoos him into the bank. It is nothing new that Holmes likes to use him as a scout (or bait), so he simply agrees to enter the building and 'look around'.
It is Holmes' own fault if he does not clarifiy what Watson should look for, so Watson prepares himself to describe the interior as romantically as possible.
While Watson is glad to be out of the glaring summer sun, the air is even warmer and more stifling inside the building than outside.
He will take a very quick look around and then leave, Holmes can go make his own obvervations in this kind of weather, Watson thinks moodily.
But the summer warmth is nothing compared to the sudden, explosive heat that takes sight and sound away as darkness consumes Watson completely.
