"LOOK! I WROTE HARRY POTTER PORN!"

HAHA, well some Harry Potter porn is much better than half the stuff published out there. Like the crap that Maz mentioned....

Good to hear you're not abandoning it soon! :)

I like un-porny porn. But at the same time I don't really like to read about throbbing manhoods and cores of her being.

It's a fine line, that.

I guess I'm not easily confused because I had no problem following your thought process in this entry. Perhaps it's because I tend to be that jumbled in my own entries at times. Perhaps it's a Capricorn thing. LOL

Could definitely be a Capricorn thing. This wasn't even the worst I've ever been, but still fairly random.

What people don't understand is that there's no money in publishing unless your name is King, Rowling, Grisham, etc or you hit with something as inexplicably popular as Twilight. My editor is a Pulitzer nominated journalist with dozens of books, both fiction and nonfiction, to her credit along with several collections of poems. She is barely making ends meet, and we're talking about a person who lives in a modest home in a modest neighborhood, living a very frugal lifestyle. The money I'm being paid for my children's book, which I've spent more than six months writing, is about the equivalent of three week's salary for me. If I make a profit from it, it will be in royalties, but there's simply no guarantee that the book will sell enough to cover the publisher's costs and bring in significant royalties. I've seen plenty of well-written books get overlooked while craptastic stuff flies off the shelves ( ... )

Yeah, if I ever finish this thing called school, I'll have a teaching degree in English and Religious Studies for roughly high school level. That'll give m $5-6,000 a month, which I already know to be more than I could make on writing. Also, our current lifestyle is easily supported by Maz on a school teacher's salary once he's done with school, but our current lifestyle is...lame. I want a bigger home, a car, and at the very least a flat-screen TV! *pouts*

I had someone tell me Bracelet was just as good as Twilight and that Theo was a lot like Edward. At the time I had no clue what that meant, but now that makes me a little :|

I love that you have faith in me. Honestly, it makes me all tingly and makes me want to send you roses.

I think that while money is important to me (I have a thing about security) even becoming a published author that made no money at all would mean a lot to me. I'm just not entirely confident enough to try that yet. I still have splotches of thin skin where pouring my soul into something with no instant ( ... )

I DON'T WANT TO BE A JOURNALIST EITHER. YOU CAN'T MAKE ME! Yeah, guess what happens 8 out of 10 times someone asks what my major is? And if I just say English and not Creative Writing, EVERYONE assumes I want to be a teacher. Quite frankly, I'd be terrible at either.

*wonders how we Americans are supposed to know that cot isn't British* Not that I've used it in, like, anything I've ever written. lol

Oooh, try telling people you're doing English with American Studies just because IT'S INTERESTING. And you ENJOY IT.
Not because you have some secret desire to be a journalist. Someone recently asked me if i was planning to join the BBC as their American correspondent.
Yes, that is my plan. I'm 19 and I have that plan.

The BBC? Jeeeeeeeeeeeez.
