Not a Fanfic

This is a short story I wrote to express my gratitude for an extraordinary act of kindness.  I cannot post it on fanfic.net because it is not fanfiction, or based on any show.  I was going through my old files and found it... so I figured, maybe I should post it.  It's an example of my original writing, even though I wrote it a few years ago ( Read more... )

Thank you for posting this. It made my day knowing this can still happen.

It can and does happen.

Every act of kindness, large and small, impacts other peoples lives in ways you may not even know. Even a smile may make a huge difference in the way someone sees themselves.

Just think how much better this world would be if we were all just a little nicer to each other! We could change the world, one smile at a time. :)

Oh what a lovely way to express your gratitude! I love that this kind of thing still happens. I've been very fortunate and blessed to be a part of such a wonderful and loving online community through a blog I follow. I've even been able to meet several of them and now do life with them. It's moved beyond an online friendship to a real life one and I can't imagine my life with out them and their families in my life.
I think stories like this need to be told because while there is such horrible and negative side of the Internet, there is also a chance for wonderful things to happen. People need to know that and be reminded that good is still out there...we just expect it to come in one or two shapes or style.
Nice job and I would think that you would be able to do well being published. Your writing style is very easy and flows very well! Keep up the great work!!

Online friends often become some of the best friends you can ever have. I have also met several of my online friends, in real life. It's always fun to get together with them. I wish we didn't live so far away from each other, so that we could meet more often, but I'll take what I can get. :)

I'm glad you enjoy my writing style and if I can ever manage to finish anything it would help the whole getting published thing considerably.. LOL... So many of my original stories aren't so intense though, they're more like the "Like..." series in tone.

Thanks again.
