Thank you for sharing. As I started to read this entry Pandora Radio decided to start playing a track by R. Carlos Nakai, a Navajo musician whom I deeply respect and often turn to for musical inspiration when I feel the need to meditate on the earth and the cycle of life. His music combines traditional Ute and Navajo music with that of the modern age. It really made a poignant background. Serendipity?
I know this is not how you planned it, and that seemed to make it harder on you... but I am glad that you were able to step up and do what needed to be done. *love and respect!*
I'm pleased you could learn the process. I had been meaning to tell you that I know how to dress and skin a rabbit in a very short period of time.
Remember to always always always check the liver for small greenish spots.Spotted liver disease is less common in domesticated rabbits than wild ones, but it's still important to look.
I'm sorry about your rabbit, and that it was so hard, but good for you for following through on your principles even when it was emotionally challenging. That's awesome. (Anyone can walk the walk when it's easy.) Here's hoping that it goes much more easily next time.
