To be, I don't know, probably annoying, octopodes, octopi and octopuses are all accepted plurals of octopus according to the Oxford English Dictionary (Octopi is only accepted because apparently English speakers like to pretend Octopus is a second declension Latin noun). However octopodes can also refer to members of the order octopoda (of which octopi/puses/podes are a part of).

To be strictly correct, it's octopodes, since octopus derives from Greek and not Latin. But that's just my inner pedant speaking. ;)
