DETAILSOn October 3, 2018, a federal grand jury sitting in the Western District of Pennsylvania returned an indictment against 7 Russian individuals for their alleged roles in hacking and related influence and disinformation operations targeting, among others, international anti-doping agencies, sporting federations, and anti-doping officials. The indictment charges Dmitriy Sergeyevich Badin, Artem Andreyevich Malyshev, Alexey Valerevich Minin, Aleksei Sergeyevich Morenets, Evgenii Mikhaylovich Serebriakov, Oleg Mikhaylovich Sotnikov, and Ivan Sergeyevich Yermakov, with computer hacking activity spanning from 2014 through May of 2018, including the computer intrusions of the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), and other victim entities during the 2016 Summer Olympics and Paralympics and afterwards. The indictment charges these defendants with conspiracy to commit computer fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, aggravated identity theft, and conspiracy to commit money laundering. The United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, issued a federal arrest warrant for each of these defendants upon the grand jury’s return of the indictment.

Голландская служба военной разведки предотвратила хакерскую атаку со стороны сотрудников российских спецслужб в апреле 2018 г. Подозреваемые пытались взломать сеть Wi-Fi ОЗХО, организации, которая, в частности, занимается расследованием дел о химических атаках в Сирии, а также об отравлении экс-полковника ГРУ Сергея Скрипаля и его дочери. У российских шпионов изъяли все вещи, в том числе техническое оборудование, на котором обнаружились свидетельства того, что подозреваемые хотели также получить доступ к файлам расследования гибели лайнера МН17.

By bringing these events to the attention of the general public, the Netherlands is issuing a clear signal to the Russian Federation that it must refrain from such actions.
Just now the Russian ambassador was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and instructed as such.
We have today informed the EU, NATO and our other international partners of these unacceptable actions by the Russian Federation.

Nations like Russia, and others that engage in malicious and norm-shattering cyber and influence activities, should understand the continuing and steadfast resolve of the United States and its allies to prevent, disrupt, and deter such unacceptable conduct.
The defendants in this case should know that justice is very patient, its reach is long and its memory is even longer.
