Our local Green Party chapter recently had Cynthia BrianKate, a transgender and intersex activist, as a presenter / guest speaker.

Interesting stuff! Although I have voted Green many times I've never attended a Green meeting, caucus, convention, etc., so I'm more a consumer of Green politics than a producer ( ... )

The way most progressive people see it is not that trans woman is a category distinct from woman, but that it's a subcategory of woman. Just like you can have a lesbian woman or a French woman or short woman or a blonde woman, you can also have a trans woman ( ... )

The frustrating thing about this trans people in the locker room moral panic is that it's basically the same thing as the gays in the locker room moral panic. The implication is that everyone who is not cis and straight must surely be a sexual deviant, one who has been secretly lying in wait all along, and the moment a policy change allows them into the locker room, they will immediately pounce, exposing themselves as sinister voyeurs or violent rapists ( ... )
