Dreams and Stories That Keep Me Up at Night
I had some pretty vivid and intense dreams last night. Sometimes I will dream up a story, but last night was unique in that the story was so solid, so structured. I agree, I love that, too. What was funny was that it was a whole story, birthed like Athena from Zeus' brain, almost entirely fully-formed in my case (she was missing her shield and other accoutrements). I hadn't really been thinking about a story like this before at all. It just leapt upon me in my sleep.
I was telling a friend today how I used to wake up with ideas, but because I didn't trust myself to do anything with them, I never bothered to get up and write them down, let alone work on the plot with any dedication. It's nice to be in a place where I don't take them for granted.
