Who needs Tahiti?

Although I had to set it aside for several months over the summer, I have continued to spend plenty of time Simming. Since I spoke with you last, dear readers, I have moved on to Sims 4. Compared to Sims 3 its boring as hell, but in spite of that I have still done a fair amount of building. And the sharing system is easy so I've become part of that ( Read more... )

Oh, that's very nice!

I played original Sims obsessively when it first came out (and wrote a couple of fics) but gave up mainly for lack of time, partly because the subsequent versions didn't allow personalized characters or the wild "adult" variations.

I do rather miss creating gardens, though.

The most recent pack for Sims 4 was a garden pack (https://flic.kr/p/E1sGbX) - I haven't gotten it yet, but will because yeah, I like landscaping too and the pack adds some gorgeous texture/color to the catalog. The truly boring thing about Sims 4 though is that there is no CAS function. So, like Sims 1, you are locked into the color choices for objects they give you or doomed to bloat your game all to hell with custom content.

Still waiting for significant adult mods for Sims 4 - there are a few, but not gameplay altering. Sims 3, however, had quite a bit of stuff to add in - I had a whole teen whorehouse Legacy running for a while. :-)

Well done on recreating Doyle's loft-style apartment so accurately and imaginatively!
I walked by that building in Camden (called Cliff Studios, if I remember correctly) last November and I'm glad to say it hasn't changed much since the 1970's :) Nor the look of the road opposite, which in Pros can be seen when Bodie drives up to the flat in Hunter Hunted to check if Ray is at home (he's not).
Although from the outside it may not appear architecturally striking, inside I love the sense of space and the light. This is why I was mesmerised by your rendering of the flat's interiors.
Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for your kind comments! The limitations of the game kept it to only two lofts high (perhaps we will get more floors in the future and I will revamp) and I was trying not to use custom content so the interiors are as close as I could get with the limited objects at hand.
