Latest obsession: Mini Calendars. I know, I know... The year is half over. None the less, I've been bitten by the creative bug.
It started with me wanting a calendar for Ianto's new home office... My muse felt that a pervy Katy Manning calendar would be a fun choice:

Pointing out the "rolled maps" just led my mind to the *strangest* place (and a sense of DEEP satisfaction...) My mother is constantly on my case about what a packrat I am and how I never throw anything out and my response is always that I only keep what I may need someday (really, I get rid of a lot of "garbage".) Those rubberbands around the maps...? They are from 25 years ago - specialty bands that hooked my braces together. They are the tiniest rubberbands around - you can't *buy* them. See? I TOLD HER I MIGHT NEED THEM SOME DAY! :)))
I'm a little gobsmacked they haven't decomposed, actually...

I make calendars all the time at work, and they're annoying and take forever, and you have to build the template, and the imposition is a confusing pain--and then the whole thing has to be remade every year. Ick. I am totally impressed by this--nevermind how tiny they are, they are bloody nice calendars! Hooooow did you do this? Did you already have a calendar and scan it, or did you find the pics and arrange the imposition on your own, or what?
Most excellent. I'm going to print one just because it's so CUTE. Have you tried it on glossy paper yet?

As for glossy paper that works well in an inkjet printer...
Try either Konica brand or Kromekote. Konica makes an excellent inkjet photo paper you can probably find on amazon.com. Kromekote is better quality--probably the best of all the photo papers--but it's very expensive. You can also try Bindakote glossy cover. All of those should hold up well to the kind of stuff you make.
Lightweight stuff is harder to find. I might check HERE. Coated text is what you want--anything under 140gsm. Actually, that site has a section on inkjet papers, too. If you wanna look.
Hope that helps you!
