"I feel like..." He swallowed and looked up at her, "like the world has been lifted off of my shoulders. When I'm with you, you make me forget..."

Tony's brow furrowed in confusion as he thought about her statement, realizing she was right. "I've had help before."

Nodding, she sighed heavily and slid off of Tony, running a hand through her hair. She wasn't sure what just happened, what this was anymore. Tony said she was his rock, that he needed her. But at the same time, he stayed neutral when most men would've been all over her. Was it the bruises?

Tony turned onto his side, sensing minor tension. "Anna?"

"It's the bruises, isn't it?" She asked quietly, looking at her hands as she sat on the edge of the bed with her back to Tony. "You hesitate because of the bruises. Or you just- don't want me like that."

"What? No! No, Anna, I... I'm sorry," he licked his lips reflexively, searching for the right words, "It's just that I respect you enough to take things slow."

Shifting, she turned back around and looked into his eyes, for some sort of confirmation that he did want her as more than a partner or friend. But there were doubts in her head and she needed to quiet them lest she lose her mind.

"Then kiss me, Tony. Kiss me like you've wanted to for however long you've wanted me."

"With or without the bruises, Anna, I still find you just as amazing as the first time I saw you."

He looked into her eyes, afraid of hurting her, afraid of being hurt, but he knew what he had to do. He gently cupped the back of her neck and pulled her close to him, passionately kissing her.

His words stunned her and she almost missed the fact that he was kissing her, until her body kicked in. Eyes fluttering shut, she leaned into his body and returned the kiss just as passionately, fisting his shirt in her hands gently.

"MMM," was all Tony managed to say as he savored her kiss, her touch.

Shifting more, she straddled his lap once more, deepening the kiss slowly as her hands slid up his chest and she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Mmm..." She moaned back, pressing her body against his.

His body relaxed again and held her tightly, needing to feel her warmth. "This," he smiled, unable to complete his thought.

"This?" She nudged gently, a goofy grin on her face as she licked her lips and looked up at him, bangs falling in her eyes.

Tony nodded as his eyes slowly drifted shut, still holding her tightly. "This... is perfect."

"Mmmhmm..." She nodded tiredly, tucking her head between his shoulder and neck and getting comfortable in his warm, strong arms.

"Feels right," he answered softly, the tiredness beginning to overcome him. "You in my arms..." Tony simply smiled.
