Shame on me

Feb 20, 2009 13:48

Breakfast on Pluto was the first movie I decided to watch outside of Batman to experience Scarequeer KIL-ian's acting. I realize now that I never wrote a thoughts post about it! Shame on me. Hopefully this will be corrected either today or Monday. I think I might write a better Disco Pigs post as well since I just wrote a reactionary post full of ( Read more... )

I'm not big on zombie movies outside of Shaun of the Dead, so I doubt I'll really get into it but yeah I will watch it eventually.
I have written a Disco Pigs post ~ I just want to write a more well rounded one

Call me crazy, but I think someone *living* should get the Oscar. Omg flame away flamers, flame away LOL. Anyway this will be my first year home to watch the Oscars in a while..it's usually on in the middle of the night at like 4 in the morning in England and I end up getting locked out of my dorm after I come back from watching it in the student center :P Good times. I think the only two up for best picture that I've seen are The Wrestler and Benjamin Button.

The best is the best, regardless of life or death.

I love your icon. I've seen it before, but I have no idea what comic it came from. Do you happen to know?

Thanks, this is one of the few ones I actually made myself LOL It's from 'The Devil's Advocate' which is a PHENOMENAL graphic novel. It's out of print and pretty expensive if you can find it, but you might be able to find it through torrent. Anyway, I definitely recommend checking it out, the artwork and story are both top notch!

That's what I suspected, since he seems to be in a courtroom. I'm dying to read that one but you're right- so far I've not found an affordable copy.

I honestly think that people were blown away by his performance and his nomination is both deserved and genuine.

I can't watch the Oscars because I don't have any television channels (as I haven't watched TV in 10 years), so I wind up just refreshing imdb.com every few minutes.

Yea for 'Breakfast on Pluto'. My absolute favorite scene is Kitten's fantasy about being a femme fatale who takes out terrorists w/ Chanel No. 5. And yea for '28 Days Later', too. It was the first post-Batman movie I saw Cillian in. I'm a big wimp when it comes to horror movies, but horror was the rental store's dollar genre that particular day, so I got it even though I was convinced I'd wind up cringing through it. Nope. It's pretty darn cool. I like it bunches.

I think that most of Hollywood lives in a bubble and has no clue what his performance meant to fans who are into Batman, who know these characters, and who really know that he did a fabulous performance as the Joker. A lot of Hollywood is hype and sheep herding; if enough of the masses (or Big & Influential Names) say OMG! YAY! the rest will follow so they don't seem like assholes. Sadness but true.

True enough, but there are a lot of people who aren't really into Batman in general but dug it nonetheless.
