Squee of the Trek and other varieties

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Don't listen to all the people who tell you there are too many special effects and big explosions for it to be proper Trek. It is proper Trek, with bells on. I loved it, and would like to see it again. This icon seems even more appropriate after this film...

Oh and I got an absolutely fantastic birthday pressie.

I liked STID. The slash between Kirk/Spock was definitely a huge selling point. :)

I loved it, especially Zachary Quinto as Spock - Kirk I could always take or leave and that kind of goes for Chris Pine too. Together though... they are something else.

I had a great time too. A lot of care went into STID and it's a very enjoyable movie with great acting. I watched the original series as a teenager and loved it, but JJ's version is something to be proud of too. We can have both:-)

I grew up with TOS and tbh, I think I prefer this version even though TOS still has a special place in my heart.

Brilliant! How did you get two coppers to hold your towel?! Never mind, just remembered you can get just about anyone to do just about anything ;)

Star Trek was made of so much win (as I previously stated in my lj and other places) and I felt a supreme sense of smug satisfaction about knowing a certain person's identity and not backing down when all the naysayers insisted he couldn't be. :)

I refuse to use the abbreviation as it is only an I away from STD!

I asked them very politely, of course. Along with the "I know this is a bit of a strange request, but..." I even asked their permission to post the photos (they obviously said yes). It was at that point I got the 'hang on, you must be a public service employee' look off the woman - police/teachers/nurses etc often seem to recognise each other on some base level.

I find myself agreeing with your reason for not using the abbreviation - I hadn't thought about it, but it fits with why I was avoiding it without thinking about it.
