There was something about Juke that made Mello worried, and it wasn't like he was usually worried for most people. It was uncertain if his concern was just related to how useful the man was with his knowledge of technology, or perhaps there was something else there. Truth be told, not even Mello himself could tell, and it wasn't like he even thought about it.
If Juke wanted to spend the day sulking and trapped in a past he could no longer reach, Mello'd have to provide some distraction with his presence to prevent this from happening.
The first thing he tried to do when he found the house was to reach out for the knob without knocking; Mello wasn't one to simply announce his presence beforehand. He stopped midway at the sound coming out from one of the windows, recognizing Juke's voice singing a sad song, very fitting with his overall mood. Mello frowned, before he finally tried to open the door.
((ooc: I have no idea whether or not the door's locked, so I left that part open for your tag ^^))
Just before Juke was about to put Monkey down, he heard somebody struggling with the knob.
"Realing all the stars above my head..."
Monkey still on his back, he unlocked the door, recognizing the blonde barbie-doll poof of a mop on Mello's head. Still singing for some odd reason (not that Juke really had a reason for most things he did beyond "he wanted to" and "it was fun"), he motioned for Mello to come in.
"Warnin' signs travel far--"
"WHO'S-THIS-ASSHOLE."
Juke rolled his eyes and walked down the hallway, past his messy living room, beckoning for Mello to follow him into the nearby kitchen without a greeting. Or maybe the song was a greeting. Eh.
"I drink instead on my own... Oh! How I've known the battle scars and worn out beds..."
If it weren't because Mello had met far weirder people, he'd have eye-rolled at Juke's unusual greeting. 'What can you expect from an old man?' he thought, and then he followed Juke, observing his surroundings as he walked to the kitchen. The impertinent robot's comment put a smirk on his lips; Juke sure had taught this toys interesting things.
"Feeling romantic today, aren't you?" Mello finally broke his own silence, hoping for the singing to stop.
Juke lead Mello into the kitchen. For a scientist that could bring to mind giant robots and whirring machinery, the room was rather small and homey. It wasn't Adstringendum's fault--he managed to make his laboratory exactly the way he wanted it. He just preffered a quaint little kitchen, counters surrounding all walls and a round little table in the center.
From that table he took a fresh plate of cookies and handed them to Mello (which this mun almost spelled as "mellow", no lie).
"Hold on, I like this song."
He then turned around, back facing Mello, and set his creation on the table. He sat down with it, examing where it's limbs would go.
"Gentle now a tender breeze blows whispers through a Gran Torino whistling another tired song..."
"IF-I-HAD-LEGS-I'D-KICK-YOUR-ASS."
"These streets are old they shine with the things I've known and breaks through the trees their sparkling
Your world is nothing more than all the tiny things you've left behind..."As if to signal the end of the song, Juke abruptly said. "I'm gonna have to go
