How did that 12-4/4-8/8-12 schedule work for you? I'm thinking for my housecon to intentionally schedule lunch and dinner in between, like 10-1, (lunch 1-2), 2-6, (dinner 6-8), 8-12.
It wasn't great. At past AdamCons, we've left an hour or more between slots for food and that worked better. Games never start on time though. This time, games more or less started on time, but people not involved in games were doing all the cooking.
Because this was a multiple-day house con with people staying over, I knew that getting people to wake up at 10 AM was next to impossible. There was late-night drinking going on. That's why we started at noon. I suppose I could have gone noon-4, 5-9, 10-2 but that means dinner at 4 and a break at 9 for snacks.
Ah, got it. At MacKlon, there really won't be people not involved in games to do food stuff, as it's a smaller event.
I hear you on the early rising thing. I'm used to having to do it after drinking late at night though, given convention living. That, and the folks crashing in my place are early risers, which tends to make me one too. That said, the 10-1 slot is intentionally just a board game slot (and I'm not doing Sunday, just one big Friday session & broken-up Saturday ones -- I think that'll help scheduling).
