So, I have always loved the idea or Remus/Sirius, ever since the third book, but have never been that much into fanfiction. Now that I find myself on the computer more and more, and with less and less good books to read, I really feel the need to start learning the true merit of fanfiction =P ( Read more... )

First of all, welcome to the wonderful world of R/S fanfiction! *g* Smart choice to come over here and ask for recs; there are so many fics out there you wouldn't know where to start.

So. I have my own personal reclist here that might be of help, and I sometimes rec fics in my post; just follow this tag.

Apart from these, I say that a few must-reads are the epics All Kidding Aside by Kihin Ranno, which is rated PG-13 and an all time favourite fic of mine. The Dating Disasters of Sirius Black by kabeyk is another must-read, though it's less fluffier than AKA an rated R.
Personally, I think nyxty is an underappreciated author, as are brighty18 and roterhimmel. planetgal471 and latenightcuppa don't get as much praise as they deserve either.

You are officially fantastic!

Yeah, see I have always loved the idea of these two, but i always found the whole fan scene a little bit...intimidating maybe? I dunno, I really wish I had been involved in it before now.

And yeah, I was looking around, looking at all these fics and was like Oo there are just so MANY, where the hell do I start. So all these recommendations and choices have made my night. I have a feeling I won't be getting much sleep tonight, reading so many of these! Thank you -jiggles excitedly-

Here’s the first of probably a series of posts from me. I’m pushy when it comes to the Puppy Love! I consider myself a relative newcomer to HMS Wolfstar as I’ve only been reading fanfics for about a year and a half. Even for an avid reader like myself and I’m obsessed, I haven’t gotten around to reading everything on my must read list! I haven’t done more than dip my eyes into Shoebox Project or Sam Storyteller’s Stealing Harry Universe yet! I think the thing about Remus and Sirius is that their stories contain the elements of so many classic themes, magic, school boy pranks, a werewolf, a man wrongfully imprisoned who escapes, war, tragedy, love and passion, betrayal and forgiveness. There are fantastically well written stories and well executed art for every taste ( ... )

I, too, am fairly new to this pairing, since I started seriously reading R/S fics this past spring, but with the help of this community, I've come across some great fics. werewolfsfan is a great resource in this fandom. She knows her stuff and will steer you towards great fics.

I tried to look for something different to rec and found a few.

If you're up for angst, try nyxfixx's A Feast in Azkaban, which is about how Sirius keeps his sanity while in prison. It bounces back and forth in the timeline, and different povs (including Dementors) and there is R/S in it, although later in the fic. It really is great, though.

I have seen quite a bit of mourning going on in this ship bemoaning the idea that it is past it’s heyday. I can’t say that I agree. I know that archives have closed and many wonderful artists have moved on but there are always discerning new people discovering the joys of this pairing. We can still access many classic fics of which we have linked a few. But there are still new and wonderful works being produced! The R/S Games held earlier this year produced close to two hundred wonderful new fan works ( ... )
