Sufjan Stevens performed with The National last night and I coulda bought tickets to go for it but I didn't because I thought 'oh, I've already seen The National earlier this year'. to be fair-- to be fair-- that wasn't advertised at all. for the best, I guess.

I've heard good things about Stornoway! They sound a lot like Fleet Foxes in this song. also Laura Marling's album is within the top 5 for best albums of 2010 in both NME and Q Magazine. SUCH TALENT SO YOUNG WHY.
speaking of snow, question re. next semester - I'm assuming people don't wear those puffy winter jackets even when it snows; will I be okay in my peacoat-like coat or (fake) leather jacket? I really don't want to bring my fat puffy jacket because it is RED like a DANGER SIGN and is also huge and...puffy (keeps me hella warm, though).
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR ESSAY; I finished one presentation 2 hours ago and now have a ton of Austen to read hurgh blergh nergh

yeah kinda! it's a lot more the typical uk indie folk sound though, which means they sort of sound like all of noah & the whale, and mumford & sons, and johnny flynn, and fionn regan etc but...not quite. fleet foxes is delightfully distinctively jangly ♥ I don't think I actually can think of a band which really reminds me of them.
I JUST WORE MINE TODAY hahaha. yeah not everyone wears them but if it makes you warm then wear it! though you can just layer like mad. london doesn't really go below -5 degrees? I do love peacoats, though.
good luck with Austen :(
