You are everything that I live for.

Well, I've come to the conclusion today that I need to stop controlling my family. Thanks to friends here I realized I do need to voice my opinion and then leave it at that; if it changes it changes, if it doesn't well...I'm leaving in the fall anyways. The only thing I hate about this whole thing is my little sisters who have to live with this for ( Read more... )

Same here with compliments. I don't know how to accept them either. Whenever someone compliments me, I'm like, "Oh, are you really talking about me and not someone else?"

The Kite Runner was a good book but I wasn't all THAT into it, unlike all the reviews I've read where the critic was like, "OMG, it's suuuch a good book!"

Yeah, for compliments: just remember what it feels like when you give someone a compliment; you want them to accept it right? So you should accept compliments from others for the same reason.

And books can't please everyone. For me it's one of those books that I'll always remember but who cares if you don't like it right? Everyone's tastes are different which makes life more diverse. <3

I mean, I accept the compliments but I feel really awkward about it.

...Now you sound like you're getting all worked up about books and compliments. O_o I feel like I should've inserted some smileys to make my comment look lighthearted and not so serious. :P I wasn't in a good mood when I wrote it...

I'm glad you've reach that decision. It will probably be hard, but in the end it might just be the right choice.

Haha, accepting compliments is hard,I know. I'm one of those who either ends up grinning for ear to ear or say something among the lines of: "Oh, this old thing?/Oh, it was nothing."
But congrats on that great interview thought! :D

We also did the Kite-Runner at school. Only last year, in my international English class. But I just loved the book, and couldn't stop reading it. Found it amazing.^^

Well, again, good luck with your family situation.

Accept the compliments! Or you'll just have to start complimenting yourself. XD
