A valid comparison. Not a perfect one, but the applications are certainly there. I find the movement of the different pieces to be most indicative, personally.
I suppose that's true. Battles are rarely so straight-forward, and there are always things going on outside of the battlefield. They might not be right in front of your eyes, but they are completely capable of turning the tide.
Perhaps there are other games that more than two individuals can play at the same time. I think Rika would approve of people continuing in the tradition of her games club.

It's a game of strategy that uses a checkered board. There are several different styles of game pieces representing kings, queens, knights, rooks, bishops, and pawns. Each of the pieces have different rules for movement.
Ah! I believe I know of a similar game by a different name. The pieces had different names as well. But, perhaps such a game is universal across worlds. I would not mind learning your version.

Those are called "sports", aren't they? I remember I played one at the beach involving a ball and a net. They remind me a bit of training exercises, and yet they seem to be completely different.
