TV makes me sad for different reasons....

Last night was the series finale of the Gilmore Girls, and maybe my hormones played a role, but damn you show, you made me cry just a little.  I actually did not think it was a bad series finale.

It was kind of hard to figure out what they would have done for 13 episodes next season since it would seem like Rory would never be home.  Although ( Read more... )

And it's like he had to make himself think about her.

Exactly. I don't really see him skipping town all summer for fun if he'd been together with Veronica, you know? Remember his comment in the season 2 finale about her being in New York for a week would feel like a month? Yeah. Parker, who? He's just not that into her, and she realizes it now.

As for Mac/Max -- how much time has passed here? She jumped into bed with him awfully fast and went straight to "love"? They were totally making me cringe and I liked their chemistry before.

I know. Girlfriend has sure been making up for lost time. I've loved the idea of that pairing since Max was first introduced, and they totally ruined it for me. Ick, ick, ick.

He's just not that into her, and she realizes it now. Exactly. Even Veronica saying that that is just how he is doesn't help. Especially since it is not really true. I mean, he was not always totally considerate, but with Veronica he did think about how things would affect her and what she would say in response to things. Seems like with Parker he could care less. He is just not invested in her at all.

And the whole Mac/Max thing got really icky when it became all about sex. Ewww. Part of their whole deal was their intellectual compatibility and it seemed like that was just out the window this week. Especially with the flunking out of school thing. I'm with you. Ick.

RE: GG.
Oh, thank GOD! I thought I was the only person crying or that it was just all the hormone meds I was on. I couldn't stop tearing up. I was SO surprised at how wonderfully it was handled. I really thought David R. was gonna fuck it up, but he didn't. It all rang soooo, soooo true to the GG world. LOVED it. I was satisfied. Of course, I doubt I'll feel that way next Tuesday after VM.

Re: VM and what I did like about this episode...

*crickets chirping.*

Yeah, that's pretty much it. I can't recall one thing (other than the previews) that I liked about it. Although, I did appreciate the fact that Cassidy's death was finally mentioned, however briefly.

Yes, I was pleasantly surprised about GG. I felt like it was a worthy finale. In fact, having an abbreviated season 8 would almost be weird after how they ended it.

Yeah, VM was weak. Best moments for me involved Wallace and I did like watching Dick explode a bit. I like when they give RH a little more range to operate than just drunk, horny, surf dude (although he does that well).

--Definitely. Besides, what's left to do on that show anyway?

-- I was disappointed that they showed some depth w/Dick at the start of the season and then NEVER AGAIN did we see anything but the drunk horny surfer.

I agree, on both points.
