With her guard down and everyone elses, it wasn't that hard to find her anymore, so Tyki made his way towards the area and scoped out the place, waiting until they'd be alone. Only then did he slip through one of the walls instead of using the front door and take a seat somewhere comfortable.

She wouldn't take notice of him unless he announced his presence. Her soul perception was numb, like the rest of her senses, and she simply continued to stare out at the wall.

He was surprised she didn't react to him being there and lifted a hand, waving it infront of her face, his head perked curiously. Least he wasn't smoking this time. It would sure fog up the room.

so terrible... togana_keiri August 7 2011, 20:14:10 UTC
That was enough to get her attention, and upon realizing who it was, she couldn't keep her pulse from increasing. There was no way she would react right now. Not in front of him. Maka closed her eyes, forcing her breathing to remain even.

"What do you want." It was more of a statement than a question. It was easier to subdue her fear when death was no longer a negative, but it didn't completely disappear. After all, there were things Tyki was capable of that had nothing to do with death.

Her eyes flickered upwards, more of a reaction than most people had been getting, but even Allen's presence wasn't enough to make a significant impact on her mood. She didn't answer him, returning to staring out at the wall.

Her eyes watered and her voice cracked when she spoke.

"It's just going to keep happening."

Soul's fist hovered over the door, paused in mid knock. Given his recent talk with her about things, him being here may be sort of awkward. As much as he'd like to be there and help somehow, he might end up making things worse.

But him not coming by or saying anything would cause more damage in the long run. Even if it was just to drop by and say that he was available for her, that would be enough..hopefully. Only one way to know. Soul knocked twice and when Maka didn't get up to answer it, Soul opened the door and stepped inside.

"Hey."

She didn't respond, and didn't even notice the familiar wavelength until he spoke. The fact that it was him didn't phase her. Right now, the pain was the only thing she could focus on. There wasn't room for anything else yet. Later there would be guilt, anger, and a number of other feelings, but for now, her whole body was consumed with how much her chest hurt.

Soft footsteps took Soul to her bed and in the time between, the words still didn't come. What could he possibly say? How could words even begin to make any of this ok? So, without words, Soul sat next to her bed where she laid and took her hand.

It was cool in his warmer hand and any connection that would normally wait in her palm was missing. Just in that touch, the damage done was clear. It stung his chest and stiffened his breathing a little. For a moment, Soul feared for as much as he tried to empathize. Never in all their close calls, all their years together had he seen her quite this injured, and as he knew, the wounds would only grow larger here.

She still didn't react verbally. He'd caught her in between bouts of crying and she's glad. She wouldn't have wanted him to feel obligated to comfort her as she cried. His hand slipped into hers, and she doesn't move her eyes to look at him, but eventually her fingers tighten around his hold. He didn't have to say anything, and she couldn't say anything.

Still she needed him there. More than ever, she needed him and curling her fingers securely around his was the only way she could communicate it to him.

[ She hadn't seen Maka for a while and strangely enough she was starting to have a strange chill about it. She's not sure why but being here so long made it easy for her to feel things...even if it seems a little strange. It was just a common bad feeling. She moved slowly towards the room wondering if Maka would be in at all. ]

[She was in her room, awake and laying on her bed. She didn't register Ishtar's wavelength, because she wasn't registering much of anything right now.]

[ Ishtar will carefully push open the door hoping that it will open actually. She doesn't know if Maka was inside. After standing there for a while she needed to make sure that Maka was actually in her room. ]

I'm sorry to intrude....Maka?

[ she mused ]

Roxas hovered nervously outside Maka's door. He raised his hand to knock, lowered it, and raised it again.

It seemed useless to go in, because what did he know about how people were feeling, really, and he'd been doubting it more than ever lately-- but at the same time, he knew what she was going through. He remembered all too well the numbness so like when his life began flooding through him at the sight of Axel's number on that termination list.

And he'd gotten Axel back. Who knew if Jet would do the same.

Sighing, he finally rapped his knuckles twice on the door, calling out "Maka?"

[There was no answer. She hadn't even heard it. She was too preoccupied staring at the ceiling.]

Obviously, that meant it was time to open the door. Mostly because Roxas knew Maka, and knew she was in there.

He pushed it open quietly, calling another soft "Maka?" into the darkness as he padded into the room. The door shut behind him with a quiet click as he made his way to the bed.

She blinked up at him from her place on the bed, obvious tear streaks on her face and eyes almost staring straight through him.

"...they took him..."
