Children, Milla believed, were not meant to suffer. They were the light of the world, the spots and starbursts of color in the darkness that could be. There were some strong people here, from all across the worlds. All across places some would never seen and never find, fantastical and new to her. Strong enough to fill in the gap-- people who would not let Kakashi down, she hoped ( ... )

The teen hesitated at the base of the tree, asking himself for the millionth time if he was really ready to do this. Milla was comforting just by being there, sure, but he didn't know her all that well.

Still, there was some draw there, stronger now than it had been before. Something about the way she called him out just to check on him and see if he was alright drew him in.

It reminded him of Kushina and the vague memories of his mother.

Steeling his will, he stepped into the tree, closing the door behind him. He could hear Milla in the kitchen area and walked towards there, the smell of fresh fruit permeating the room.

Well, if he didn't wish to now, then they could have a pleasant snack together, and she would do her best to sooth Kakashi that way. There was a time and a place for everything. Granted, Sasha was a little less in-your-face in terms of personality. As motherly as the woman was, some things would just never change.

People flocked to him and yet he had no idea why...

Smiling to herself, Milla paused in her activities to greet Kakashi, eyes crinkling the slightest bit. So he did come... Ah, well, if anything Kakashi was not, that much Milla could see, he was not a coward.

"Kakashi, there you are!" Acknowledgment that he at least seemed physically unharmed. "It is very wonderful to see you. I'm just finishing up. Would you like anything to eat?"

Options, small things to hopefully ease the poor boy into at least relaxing just a little bit.

Kakashi nodded in greeting, the delicious smell reminding him that he hadn't eaten in several hours.

Well, he supposed it couldn't hurt. Maybe he could get more information about what exactly he was getting himself into while they ate.

"Sure. What are you making?"
