This was very clever and felt so real -- it's such cool concept and very well executed. I'm always a little leery of AUs because so many of them start out with an interesting concept and run off the rails right away with either crazy OOC-ness or a complete lack of historical grounding. Not so with this. Great stuff!

I usually bypass Jimmy stories but something in your summary made me give it a go. (It could've just been trusting you to be an amazing author and make me like Jimmy.) I'm so glad I read this because it was unique and so very interesting! Jimmy's voice was perfect and Dean's background presence in the writing was also perfectly him. I like that Castiel's actions (and what Jimmy surmises from them) tell a lot about him, despite his limited presence.

Blush-inducing praise, indeed, thank-you so much! X-) Using the Jimmy-writing-a-letter format kinda boxed me in a tad, leaving Cas and Dean with little on the actual page, so being told they came through strong enough is very bolstering.

I don't think I would've actually attempted such an AU for anyone else, frankly. But you are one of the biggest sweethearts in this fandom and you've done lovely ficcage for me in the past and I just really wanted to try and give you the best I could. And yay!, you liked it! *bounces*

Unfortunately for the pdf, the fonts I used didn't include all the "funny" characters like letters with accents and such, but still. I'm glad the format worked okay enough to make the whole thing just that little bit extra good for you. :)

And aw, Sam was in the Pacific?

I thought it'd make the best sense - being older, Dean would've joined up first and naturally would've been sent to the European front, right? :) So then when Sam gets to join up... yeah. Plus, it allowed me to "show off" some of the Filipino stuff I've got by osmosis during 10 years of being married into a Filipino family. *taps nose conspiratorially* ;)
