Peter Petrelli has an ability called Empathic Mimicry.  He is able to duplicate and 'absorb' the powers and abilities of others and use them at will.  This can only be done if the power is something that the character was born with as all abilities in Heroes (Peter's included) are DNA based.  When Peter gets a new power, he can't use it very well and active powers (like energy throwing or teleportation) require him to concentrate hard.  When the person from whom he gains the ability is not nearby, he needs to focus on the way that the person makes him feel to access their powers.  He doesn't need to know the person well or know them at all.  He just has to recall an emotion linked to them.

Peter's current powers include:
  • Cell Regeneration (the counter to this is an object lodged in his skull...he will however regenerate once the object is removed)
  • Flight
  • Super Strength (he's pulled out parking meters from concrete...we'll nerf that by 50%)
  • Telepathy (must be in close range, only gets about 50% of the thought)
  • Telekenisis (can lift or move light objects a distance of 10 meters)
  • Invisibility (limited to 5 minutes, allows him to see others that are invisible, chance of failure)
  • Phasing (walking through walls, 50% chance of failure, object has to be no thicker than he is)
  • Time Stopping (5 minutes at a time, 10 foot radius)
  • Precognition (Peter has dreams about future events and can paint/draw -- poorly -- future events...  Generally they leave him baffled).
  • Teleportation (the original ability let him move through time and space.  Peter can no longer time travel, but he can pop up anywhere in the facility that he's been.  He can also teleport anyone he's touching too.  We'll limit this to one other person at a time)
Notes:  Peter is a good guy and a dreamer that goes out of his way to be kind.  Use of his powers will almost always be accidental or in defense, though on the powers he can't control well (telepathy, phasing, invisibility), there might be oops moments where he uses them accidentally.  He also can go into power overload, sometimes gaining too many powers, too fast.  This will cause him to collapse and black out.

1. Can Peter use his telepathy on you?  When interacting with him, the easiest way to get him to know what you're thinking is to put thoughts in //tags// or in italics.
2.  Can Peter time stop you?
3.  Can Peter spy/sneak up on your character while invisible?
4.  Can Peter crash your party by walking through your room wall?
5.  Can Peter dream/paint/draw something about you in the future?  If so, let's get plotting!
6.  Do you have a power that Peter can absorb?  Note: Peter can only absorb natural abilities that people are born with because his ability works off of DNA.  It's possible that non-human abilities could really mess him up!  If so, what is it?  What are the limitations and the maximum potential of the power(s)?  How stable is the power?
7. Peter is an avid comic book and video game fan, but for this setting, I am going to remove all references to Superman and Spider-man and Batman (etc) from his canon.  Is it all right for him to equate your character with a brand-new, made up character he might have read in some comic book from where he's from with a similar sounding name (for instance, using Batman: "You're sort of like this guy called Dark Bat from this comic I use to read as a kid!")?
8.  Anything else?
