Fancy Foosball - Week 5 Preview

Oct 08, 2009 11:22

So... this is shaping up to be a troubling week for Coach Way. I got incredibly lucky last week, winning 55-54 over the lowest scoring team in the league (making me 2nd lowest score by a pretty large margin). That puts me at 3-1 for a four-way tie for first place overall, and a three-way tie in my division. Now, unluckily, I am facing the highest- ( Read more... )

Brett Favre and Sidney Rice will need to TEAR SHIT UP against the Rams for me to have any chance of beating DW, sadly. The Bye week has sidelined my first two round picks.

If DW beats you, I will hire a local bully to beat up your daughter.

The Matty S rating doesn't seem off to me. That Arizona game should be a shoot out, since both of those defenses have been underperforming/perhaps they just out right stink. Also, there's a reason why he and Andre Johnson sucked vs Oakland, and his name is Nnamdi Asomugha. He's one of the best, if not the best corner back in football (although the Jets mighty Darelle Revis is making a damn good case for himself this season). He doesn't ever cover just 1 guy a game, but he makes the passing offenses of everyone vs the raiders basically avoid whatever side of the field he is on at that moment. He doesn't get any pub because the the raiders suck in every other facet of the game. Nnamdi is a reason why I really like your Nicks pick up. The Giants are going to try to get him involved more. He could be good this week and moving forward. If he starts to play well, Manningham's looks plummet ( ... )

Yeah, I typically play 3RB/2WR since my receivers tend to blow.

I don't think I am going to play Nicks this week. It's too much of a toss-up that he'll get any points (having only played 2 pro games, ever). I get the feeling this is just going to be a heavy running game for the Giants, in which case Jacobs will do me well. I may instantly regret this while watching Sunday's game, but it just doesn't feel right, yet.

I think you're right about that--forgot you owned Jacobs. He'll be huge this week. I expect the Giants to be up and then just pound the shit out of the Raiders on the ground.
