series 2 rewatch thoughts part 1! also more on my feelings about famous authors

So as I think I have mentioned several times I've been rewatching RTD Who. Someone asked if I had made any posts about it, which I haven't in particular, so I decided to just make a kind of round-up post at the end of each season. But my s2 post is already huge so I'm posting the first chunk of it now, before it gets further out of hand.

YA RLY, Harry Potter fandom hates nothing more than the possibility of their fanfic being invalidated. How dare JKR have thoughts or extra material about her intellectual property and how dare she decide to share it with people who might want it.

Fandom is missing out tbh because the show we have been watching is awesome.

lol Harry Potter fandom needs to stop assuming everything JKR ever has done or will do was done specifically to spite them as individuals. We've known for years and years that she had heaps of extra stuff lying around and was at one point planning to publish an encyclopedia so I don't know why everyone (okay, "some people", not everyone) is losing their shit over what will probably be the equivalent of some drabbles. But obviously she's doing it to specifically target their fic and tell them they're wrong.

Umm there's this thing called Pottermore, I don't fully understand but it's going to be some kind of interactive readalong website game thing for Harry Potter, and I guess if you do certain tasks you acn ~unlock like additional scenes and stuff? Like little drabbles or whatever that JKR has written. Harry Potter fandom hates nothing more than JKR making decisiosn about her own characters, or writing about them, or giving her thoughts on them, etc, so this is pissing some people off.

New Earth is so cute! And it is so fun w/e internet it's a great episode. CassandraRose and CassandraTen are the best.
