I'm bored, so yes, I shall bore the people on my friends list because I'm cool like that. :)

My Mum might have coeliac disease, so for the next three weeks she has to cut out all wheat and gluten to see if it helps until her results come back. I think it's funny, but she thinks different. It runs in our family though so I may get it when I'm older ( Read more... )

eating, random, happy :), family, public entry, work, sunflowers, boredom

That's a shame for your mum, it does make things a bit difficult for her. At least if she knows what's wrong it is easier to control the symptoms.

Are you still working? When do you finish?

I am v pleased your sunflower came out for you today *beams broadly*.

It does, we hope she doesn't have it but at least if she does then we know what's making her ill.

They won't let me quit, my manager said she'd miss me and my colleagues (who are all my age and we're good friends) bully me into staying, so I'm staying for the time being. I only wanted to quit anyway because I didn't have the energy to work for 6 hours a week, but we'll see when I go back to college.

the doctor thought i had celiac once. it made me miserable. i was so sick and felt like shit, AND i had a list of food i was allowed to have. talk about hell. specially since if im going to eat it has to be 'safe' and im the only one who can decide its safe, and handing me a list is not good. luckily i had a biopsy and stuff done and turned out the doctors were smoking crack. maybe it will work that way for your mom? and if she does have it, i hope its not really severe. :)

I'm glad you don't have it! A few of my aunts have it and they seem to be dealing with it ok, they don't seem too bad.

*dusts her hands*
My job here is done then :D

Some people can have an intolerence to wheat/gluten without actually having coeliac disease, same with dairy. I can't have too much dairy products but I'm not lactose intolerent. That's what my GP was saying anyway!

I wonder why you had to change your toothpaste?

that DID make me smile just picturing that sunflower.

and my mom has celiac disease; she's had it most of her life and can't have anything with wheat. meaning special cereal, no bread, no bagels or cakes or pizza...but i know how to make gluten-free brownies and lots of other goodies for her, which she eats in abundance (i make them deliberately gluten-free when i'm mad at her, so i can sabotage her diet....oooh i'm sneaky). teach your mom to like thai food -no wheat there.

yes, so amazing what a decent nights sleep does to your mood. i don't take mood-altering meds, but i've noticed from when my friend started taking them - very amazing change.

:) :) :)

Yay!!

Lol, well, I bought special flour for her yesterday and said I'd bake her something so she has some snacks to eat over the next few weeks. Thai food sounds like a good idea, and it's healthy.

I've never liked taking the risperidone, and rarely take it properly, but I think I shall now, especially with the start of school approaching.
