I don't own Medieval, but I have tried swatching it on my hand and if it helps, it's so sheer (as are most Lipstick Queen lipsticks) that the color comes out like a very nice, warmish pink. You can build it up, of course, but it's nowhere near the color in the tube.

I have Frog Prince now! And while it's a lovely, coolish pink, it's not as fuchsia as I'd like. I'm thinking it might get better in the summer, when my cracked lips are in better shape, because it tends to look more like the color I want in the patches on my lips where the skin has peeled off.

Don't think I haven't loved your decent into madness over on Tumblr BECAUSE I HAVE. For me, it's less a Stephen Amell thing (because I don't DO real people. Actually, I'd definitely do Stephen Amell, because MAN ALIVE! But in general I'm not here for the actors only the characters) and more of an Olicity thing. There's something about 'ships for me, it's the one thing that always sucks me in and keeps me there even long after the show has passed its expiration date.

Big Mean Pile of Mush described Oliver Queen to a T this season. It's almost unfathomable to me now that I didn't like Oliver for the longest time. But now that I see those episodes again (I've been capping season 1) I'm loving him and his gruffness.

I tried to make icons a few months back, but I'm so out of practice, they're just blah. Maybe I should practice some more next week? Say on Thursday...?

I'm sorry to hear about your brother and that it's been a rough year. :( Here's hoping it improves from here on out.
Thanks, I hope so too.

That flu sounds terrible. I'm glad you're finally feeling better.

am even thinking of taking Thursday and Friday off next week for...reasons

Sooo, is next week when certain events that I've seen on Tumblr are supposed to transpire? I'm still watching Arrow, and I'm definitely pro-Oliver/Felicity, but I did skip a few episodes in the middle of the season, after Oliver's return from the "dead." I just didn't have any patience with the Laurel or Ray plots, and one of the last episodes I watched before taking a break seemed to be setting up Malcolm as being basically a good guy who just happened to almost destroy a city that one time because of grief or something, which...no. But I am caught up on the most recent episode, and I'm planning to watch through the end of the season to see if I can recapture my fondness for the show.

Okay, having said all that: Give me some Olicity fic recs please, because just picking and choosing things off AO3 has not turned up a lot of gems.

I actually just watched the two most recent episodes of The ( ... )

The flu was the woooorst. Everyone who had it (and there were a lot. But most people got it around Christmas and I got it at the end of February or something) said the same thing: it's like you're almost think you're imagining how awful you feel because there are no external symptoms.

Sooo, is next week when certain events that I've seen on Tumblr are supposed to transpire?
Yup, next week is the big event! This season must be so hard for people who aren't as obsessed as I am, it's had so many more lows than highs, not to mention being founded on a bedrock of total and utter depressing suck (Sara dying and Laurel/Ray rising to superherodom).

Give me some Olicity fic recs please
Off the top of my head, anything by MachaSWicket, and I've bookmarked a few of my favorites.

Somewhere to start at least!

The case-of-the-week plots are meh, and the fact that Iris is the only cast member who still doesn't know that Barry is the Flash is ridiculous and annoying,I think they're making the same mistake with Iris that they did with Laurel: she ( ... )

One of my most hated scenes on The Flash was when Barry, Joe and Eddie were sitting in the living room conspiring to keep everything from Iris. The misogynistic undercurrent was so strong I'm surprised they weren't pulled under and drowned on the spot.

I haaaated that scene. So much hate. The debate over whether Joe as her father or Eddie as her boyfriend should have the most say in Iris's life was repulsive. You would think that after the way Laurel/Oliver was rejected by the audience that the writers would have figured out that keeping the love interest in the dark and out of the action was not the right way to build an interesting relationship, but I guess not.

Thanks so much for the fic recs! I'm on vacation this week, and am looking forward to having something fun to read!

I'm sorry you and your family have been suffering from medical woes...that's the worst!

Really liking iZombie, but David Anders has never done anything for me before and he's not doing it here either.

I feel the same way. I know a lot of people loved him on Alias, but I always thought he lacked the It-factor. So far I'm okay with feeling meh about David Anders though because he gets limited screentime and Blaine is mostly in a separate storyline from Liv and all the other characters I do care about. I'm sure that will change by the end of the season when they're all thrown together, but for now my apathy for his character isn't getting in the way of my enjoyment of the show.

Elementary has been amaaaazing this season and I look forward to Fridays like crazy all week. It's such a relief after the clusterfuck of the Mycroft arc last season. My love for Kitty came out of left field, I was so prepared to just tolerate her until they shipped her off, but instead I was genuinely sad when she left. I know, right? I didn't actually like ( ... )

It's been a tough year, but I hope we're over the hump.

I always thought he lacked the It-factor.
I don't know, I think for me it's more that his characters lacking that thing that makes me latch on. I mean, Sark was a stone-cold killer and I can't even remember if they made any attempt at redemption, but it certainly wasn't before I fell out of love with the show and after that I just didn't care. So I can only hope they'll do something to make his character work before I fall out of love with iZombie.

I was preemptively ranting about this season before the premiere when I heard about Kitty. But then they did the best thing they have ever done on this show and made her the glue that brought Sherlock and Joan back together. They are so the heart of the show. Two people who aren't exactly warm and cuddly, but something about the two of them together just works.

You and me both!

I can't blame Felicity for the horrible plotting and writing choices they've been making this year. It feels like she's been off in a world of her own, shoved out of the Arrow Cave by both Diggle and Oliver and the Ray scenes just don't work for her character. She plays well off gruff, stoic people because she brings them out of their shells and allow us to see a completely different side of them. But with Ray, it's like their personalities feed into each other and escalate the cutesiness until it's a cringe-worthy mess of a scene. My biggest hope for next season (I'm pretty much considering this one a loss at this point) is for her to have at least one genuinely good friend that lives in the same city (or I'd think Barry would fit the bill perfectly).

I can't think of any longfic off the top of my head, so I'll just tell you what I told molly_may in my response to her: anything by MachaSWicket, and I've bookmarked a few of my favorites.

(Picked my Peggy icon before I even realized how appropriate it was!)
