speaking of which, there haven't really been any leaked pilots this year, WTF?
You know, I was just thinking the same thing. It's downright odd.
Love that purse!
Both those guys are more tolerable than Bill, after all
Heh. I adore book Bill (not so much on the show, since Moyer does nothing for me). Alcide and Quinn are fine (and Sookie's reason for dumping Quinn was beyond selfish), but I've always wanted her with Bill or Eric in the books. I haven't watched S2 of the show yet (was underwhelmed with S1 and thought Eric was by FAR the best casting on the show and the best thing about it), but I'm hoping I enjoy it more.
I've seen all of one leaked pilot. Last year, pilots started leaking in early June or something. Maybe it's the end of an era?
Love that purse! Me too! *g*
I find book!Bill rather forgettable, but harmless. Stephen Moyer, on the other hand, now that's someone where I just don't get the attraction. Not for the casting people, not for whatever fans of him exist out there, nothing.
I do think that you'll enjoy season 2 once you watch it, though. I certainly did!
It would seem so strange if the pilots just stopped now. I guess it's possible they put better security on them this year? Thing is, nothing builds better buzz than a great leaked pilot. Ah well.
I'm with you 100% on Stephen Moyer. I'm sure he's a nice guy and all, but his casting utterly mystifies me. I mean, there are a billion actors in the world, and they came up with HIM? I just...I don't get it. Skarsgard, on the other hand, is perfect for Eric. I loathe Tara and I'm not big on Jason, but at least they got Eric right.
Oh, and I'm just finishing up Burn Notice S1. Very enjoyable! Fiona did grow on me. Downloading S2 now.
I'm thinking there might be better tracking of who gets what or something? Because otherwise I'm unsure as to why nothing's leaking. Unless it's because the networks don't want unfavorable buzz killing their shows before they're even on the air?
I don't have strong feelings one way or the other about Tara, though I am mystified as to why her role is so large on the show. As for Jason, I have to say that the last few episodes have done wonders for my outlook on him. I think I actually like him better on the show now than in the books. Not that I like him all that much in the books, so that was a poor choice of words. I guess I meant that I think they're doing a better job with him on the show than Charlaine Harris did in the books. But at the start of the season he was worse than ever, so...
Come to the sad realisation that my new-found obsession with Eric/Sookie is the most fannish I've felt in years. Season 3 of HIMYM was a fannish high-point, sure, but it still didn't feel like THIS. I'm not sure how the hell this happened, and it might not be the best thing considering how long off they could be if they follow the general outline of the books. Sure, there's book 4, but that's still another season away, and then there's Alcide and Quinn. I do get the feeling that on the show they might skip some of those developments in Sookie's love life and focus on the triangle between Sookie, Eric and Bill, which might cut down on the time span, but I'm not sure if I'd prefer that. Both those guys are more tolerable than Bill, after all. I have a feeling they're going to edit a bunch of it out because of this too, plus they're already skipping through parts of the plot. And I'm with you. If she's not going to be with Eric I rather her be with Sam or the other supes. Anything is better than Beelll
( ... )
I'm not sure about Sookie/Sam, it always seemed so one-sided, and I have a feeling Sookie would just run roughshod all over Sam in any relationship. But I certainly don't mind Sookie with anyone else, I'm just wondering if it wouldn't be easier for them to stick to the players they already have. One more guy vying for Sookie's affection might be overkill.
I have never been obsessed with green. Blue, if anything, was always my color. But I've never found a blue purse that I like, much less love like I love my green purse. Go figure.
I like Alcide, but I never thought he treated Sookie very well. Maybe the series will change that.
I wouldn't be at all upset if they skipped Quinn. He always seemed really pointless to me, and who needs two werelovers? Alcide OR Quinn, and improvements to whichever one they pick. That's my opinion.
Well, there was always that question of whether or not Debbie Pelt put a spell on him or not, so maybe they'll play that up? (Though now that I think about it, they pretty much already gave that storyline to Bill. Hmmm...)
I always liked Quinn's weretiger-ness, but I agree on the pointlessness (it felt very much like a delaying tactic for the inevitable Sookie/Eric reunion), so I vote for a meld of the two characters, because just a mere werewolf sounds just plain boring after having read the entire series.
I have been really disappointed with romantic comedies of late, but The Proposal was definitely one of the better ones I've seen in a long while. I miss the string of fabulous ones in the late nineties so much.
Haha, Ace of Cakes! That's my neighborhood; I walk by the bakery like every day and they're at my favorite bar all the time. Whenever friends from out of town come to visit, they force me to drive them stealthily around the block in the afternoons when Geoff and Mary Alice and the baker guy are outside smoking XD.
I need to catch up with True Blood; I stalled out halfway through the first season, but everyone seems to be raving about second season so it seems like it's worth the watch? And Skarsgard is unbelievably hot, so.
Probably due to my age, I'm much more more inclined towards the romantic comedies of the late 80s - early 90s. I can't really recall any great ones off the top of my head from the late 90s.
Haha! Stalking your neighbors! I enjoy the creations more than the cast of characters, though had the people sucked, I probably wouldn't have lasted an entire season.
I caught up around mid-season, which I think was really lucky, because that's when I felt it got really good. Had I started just a week or two earlier, I might very well have quit, I think, because while others were loving the early season, too, I wasn't. I liked it more than season 1, but it wasn't exactly quality TV. Well, it still isn't, but now there's added obsession value, which increases its inherent worth about tenfold. =)

See i am the same i was chatting to my friend earlier on and i have been this fangirly since Spike/Buffy
But i too have read a couple of the books and i was wondering if they are going with the whole Alcide/Quinn storyline. But it kind of reminds me about the whole Buffy/Spike/Angel eternal triangle.
I was definitely that much into Logan/Veronica, too, but other than that, Spike/Buffy is the only other couple I've been so worked up about. And it's not even the show canon, or book canon that's making me feel this way, I don't know what the hell is going on.
I get the feeling the show will aim for the classic triangle with Bill/Sookie/Eric, just because they already have Stephen Moyer under contract, and so I doubt they'll follow the books when it comes to Bill, because if they did that, he'd be dropped down to recurring character - maybe even guest star - from next season on. And I hear Alan Ball really likes him, so...
