Man, I am such a doofus. I knew that the Long Way Down DVDs had already shipped, since I got my shipping notice yesterday, and yet I still didn't think to check the torrent sites until just now. Turns out I could have downloaded the final episode yesterday morning. Go me ( Read more... )

I've never seen The West Wing, but I have an empty Download folder for it. heee, that's a pattern with me *g*
but I wouldn't take them for free, so we're not going to come together here ;)

Oh, but why won't you take them for free? I don't mind, REALLY. Pretty much the only stipulation I'd have is that if you don't like the show, you'll make the same offer in your own journal, sending them to someone else who hasn't seen the show.

I'm very weird like that and gifts mostly make me uncomfy. I know you wouldn't mind, and I wouldn't mind sending them the next person after watching, but I wouldn't want you to pay for postage etc.
hmmm, maybe I can repay you the postal rate and I will send them anyone else who wants to watch it afterwards, that would work for my strange mind.
oooh, they can be the official fandom sendalong DVDs or something like that *g*

I sort of know what you mean, because I'm like that myself. I have the money, of course I don't want anyone else paying for me. But for me it's more a question of it being too much of a bother trying to get money that I don't really need, you know? However, if you insist on repaying me, you could always buy me extra user pics or something, those always come in handy.

So, I'm going to need your address. Did you recently post it, maybe in conjunction with some Christmas card post? If not, you can send it to me at my gmail address (jems00). Oh, and I don't know if you noticed, but I added to the post that I might not get it out before Christmas. Also, I've been thinking about maybe buying a new season 3 too. Actually, I AM going to buy a new copy, I just don't know if it'll be soon. If it is, I'll send that one along too.

Are you reading WW fic? And if so, did you rediscover anything amazing? If you did, please share.

I am! Though for me it's not so much "rediscovering" as "discovering". I've tried so many times to read TWW fic, but it's kind of been too daunting. Hell, it's still pretty daunting, but I've sort of been working my way through the J/D section of The National Library. When I find an author I like, I read through that, then I return to the J/D category. So far, I don't think I've made it past the first page. There are some mighty prolific authors in this fandom!

Have you read cesperanza's fic? I also enjoyed Fantasy Season 8. I mean, there were some bumps in the road, but generally, I liked it because it had an ensemble feel with a J/D slant. Other than that, I think I've mostly just read (and in some cases, reread) the big names.

Oh man, I'd totally forgotten cesperanza her stuff was fantastic.

That's where I started my rereading/reading. It set quite the precedent.

Hey, did you ever write any TWW fic?

I've been eyeing this. I still don't have season 7 on DVD...

You know, I've never found complete series box sets to be all that much better than individual seasons. I mean, sure they usually take up less shelf space, but at the same time, since I have my shows alphabetically, it's harder to work around the bigger boxes (like the Friends complete series, which takes up almost an entire shelf).

I think season 7 was a step up from both season 5 and 6, but I may be alone in that assessment. I sometimes think I'd just reached the point where I didn't expect very much anymore.

If you're looking for a place in sweden to buy at least season 1 you can find season 1 for
179 SEK at Mediamarkt.

Oooh, thanks! And I know there's one in Heron City, so if I make my way south of the city I'll be sure to check there.

I have the Complete Collection of the WW, so this might be different for individual sets, but I thought the only season that was in full-screen was the first? For me everything is in widescreen except season 1.

I think the Complete Collection was actually the first time season 2 was released in widescreen (I may be completely wrong there, though), and I had my season 2 waaaay before then.
