So there's this guy in my unit...let's just call him SPC Mitchell. (no, not any SPC Mitchell that may have been mentioned previously. That guy got out of the Army. This is someone who is completely not that guy...or his Ex-Wife. I think She's SPC Benson again, anyhow.) Anyhow, this ALLTOGETHER NEW GUY is continually making a dumbass of himself.

The U.S. is alright, there's a lot of shit in there, yeah, but so does every country. We're certainly better off than a lot of countries, but are we perfect? No. A lot of people miss out on that idea entirely. They have a "grass is always greener" idea and can't shake it.
As for me, I think it's cool to be here, but I'm wary of being allegiant to one specific piece of land, idea, governance, whatever. Thus far, Liz and I've thrown around the ideas of living in Britain, France, and Germany. We'll see what happens, but they're good for their purposes as well. Such as, France has an excellent functioning education system, and Germany is the only European country who classify theater performance to be a municipal job, so a performer always has consistent work to do, which is important for Liz's Soprano Performance degree. (That and her voice is pretty popular for European opera ( ... )
