I am in a somewhat good mood as I finished my evil research plan* yesterday and the people who have looked at it so far actually like it and think it looks exciting. It is not horribly flawed!!!!!!!!!. Another bit of good news is that a couple of other people in the lab are going to be embarking on similar things so I will not be scared and

Yeah, I know what you mean about needing to learn to "back myself more." The unfortunate thing about postgrad is that no one's going to hold your hand anymore, or at least not as much. I'm trying to do the same thing now, but as a postdoc. Gah...
