Authors Notes: The italicized words are lyrics to Rihanna's song "Unfaithful". You can watch the video and hear the song here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rp4UwPZfRisI like the piano throughout the song and the lyrics as well, since they are not the usual, "Woe is me, I've been cheated on" lyrics, but rather the other side of the coin. As always, please comment and let me know what you think!
Bam smirked as Ville drunkenly reached for his ass again.
“Vil, calm down! We’re still at the bar,” he muttered, glancing at the curious faces seeming to peer in from all angles. What he should have said was, “Ville, I don’t want anyone to know we’re together.”
“So?” the Finn slurred, “I’ve got this hot boyfriend, and I want him sooo bad...”
“Alright, let’s go.”
Bam could never resist Ville. The man was temptation in its purest form; a green-eyed beauty, something out of a renaissance painting. Bam loved Ville, he really did. The best thing was that Ville loved him, too, and Bam knew it. The passion they shared in the bedroom was nothing compared to the love shared between them. They could either laugh for hours or share those same hours in comfortable silence. Their relationship was perfect, except for one thing: Bam cheated.
Story of my life
Searching for the right
But it keeps avoiding me
Sorrow in my soul
Cause it seems that wrong
Really loves my company
He's more than a man
And this is more than love
The reason that the sky is blue
The clouds are rolling in
Because I'm gone again
And to him I just can't be true
“Where’re you goin’ Bammie?”
“Uh, just out to visit with some of the guys. I haven’t been seeing them as much lately...” Bam trailed off, trying to find some excuse for where he was really going.
Ville huffed, feeling left out. “Well, you could have invited your boyfriend.”
“Sorry,Ville, I didn’t mean to leave you out, it’s just that it’s been so long since I’ve hung out with just them.”
“ ‘Just them?’ They always bring their girlfriends to hang out. I can’t see why I have to be any different.”
“Look, Ville, I already told them I’d be meeting them at 7:00, and it’s almost 6:30, so I gotta go. We can argue about this later. I’ll be home early, ok?”
“Whatever,” Ville muttered as he walked away.
“Hey, Dunn?”
“Yeah, hey Ville. What’s up?”
“Nothing, just calling to see if Bam’s with you guys tonight.”
“Nope. Now that you mention it, he’s been a little distant lately; I’ve haven’t really talked to him.” Ville heard voices in the background and Dunn say, “Hey, assholes! Ville’s looking for Bam, you guys know where he is?” Ville’s heart sank as he heard those same voices reply in the negative. “Sorry, Ville, no one really knows. Have you tried calling him?”
“A couple times, yeah. But he’s not answering his phone.”
“Oh well, I wouldn’t worry about it. You know Bam, he’ll turn up.”
“Thanks, Dunn.”
And I know that he knows I'm unfaithful
And it kills him inside
To know that I am happy with some other guy
I can see him dying
I don't wanna do this anymore
I don't wanna be the reason why
Everytime I walk out the door
I see him die a little more inside
I don't wanna hurt him anymore
I don't wanna take away his life
I don't wanna be...
A murderer
Three weeks passed since “the incident” as Ville referred to it to himself. Was Bam really lying to him about where he was going? He had to be, Dunn of all the guys would never lie. There was only one explanation for Bam’s whereabouts - he was somewhere or with someone Ville wouldn’t approve of. Ville liked basically everyone, so he reasoned it down to one option: cheating.
Although Ville was sure after six weeks that Bam was cheating on him, he couldn’t bring himself to make an accusation, let alone leave him. Bam was his everything - his life, body, and soul - how could he get on without that? Moreover, how could he have been so blind? Bam had to have been cheating for years, and Ville never had a clue.
I feel it in the air
As I'm doing my hair
Preparing for another date
A kiss upon my cheek
As he reluctantly
Asks if I'm gonna be out late
I say I won't be long
Just hanging with the girls
A lie I didn't have to tell
Because we both know
Where I'm about to go
And we know it very well
Our love, his trust
I might as well take a gun and put it to his head
Get it over with
I don't wanna do this
Anymore
After yet another night of going to bed alone while Bam was “out”, Ville made up his mind. If Bam didn’t want him, no one would. This was it. He got out of bed and put on a ratty old t-shirt and some faded out jeans with his converse - comfortable clothes to make an uncomfortable purchase.
“Yeah, the 9mm looks fine. You sure it fires alright? I don’t really have time to practice with it.”
“Yeah, yeah, it’s a fine shot.” The pawn owner looked a little leery of the tall, thin man in front of him. What did this foreigner want with a 9?
“Fine, I’ll take it.” Ville handed the man a wad of bills. “Just keep the change, man,” he added, and then to himself, “I won’t be needing it.”
I don't wanna do this anymore
I don't wanna be the reason why
And everytime I walk out the door
I see him die a little more inside
And I don't wanna hurt him anymore
I don't wanna take away his life
I don't wanna be...
A murderer
Bam walked into the house feeling guilty as always. He always came home to Ville after sex with another spent and tired, never feeling better about anything. “This time,” he told himself, “this time, I’m gonna break it off for good. It’s the best thing for both of us, really.”
But as soon as he saw Ville, he knew he couldn’t do it. There was his boyfriend - his lover and constant companion - standing with a smile on his face and his hands behind his back.
“Ville, what are you up to?” Bam smirked. “I thought you’d be in bed by now - it’s almost 3am!”
“Oh, Bammie, I have a surprise for you.” Ville smiled, pulled the gun from behind his back, and placed it to his temple.
“Ville, NO!”
