Chapter 5 UPDATE extralong!
Time flew away quickly for Jin. The promotion around his new album that came out before Christmas made him busy, but this special meeting with a special person floated in front of his eyes all the time. Though he hadn’t much time for himself or even sleep enough, he didn’t mind it. The excitement inside him made him a little child who can’t wait Christmas morning to get the presents. Every single part was carefully prepared by Jin and even his friend Ben helped him with some useful tips and connection to get reliable staff to the project. It was not that easy to persuade the resisting man, but Akanishi know his friend’s weak points and also that Ben was just too protecting with him. They grew together all the years like true brothers, though their personality was in a flat opposition, they knew each other pretty well.
“I still tell you that’s a fucking idiot plan, yegga!” Ben made a face on the other day when Jin called him for some help. He knew well it was no chance to change the other’s decision.
“You’re too negative, man. It’s not someone from a shabby club. I have contacted him for months. So… it’s not a stranger, ne?”
“Hmm… but not someone you know, dude.”
“Aggr… please don’t get on that topic again!” Akanishi whined into the phone. Most of the case it helped to stop his friend, but not always.
“Okay! I won’t. But mail me right after you met. I want to know how is your date going, and how is the guy looks like.” Ben grinned imagining his friend’s face if he finds an ugly man on the dating spot. He would harass Jin for ages with that. But deep in his heart there was a little hope that Akanishi Jin would be that lucky to find a pretty guy at Midtown and can enjoy his night.
First Jin had to think about a dark glassed car with a driver. Not an eye-catching limousine, but a comfortable one to take them to the hotel he has booked. He had preferred a nice restaurant to spend the time there and chat with Kazu-chan, but that would have given too easy job for paparazzi. Disturbing items would be the most annoying and probably would destroy his sweet date with the guy. Ben was who came up with the idea to book a whole hotel suit and order there the food. Maybe it will be mistakable to head to the hotel right after they said ‘Hi’, but Jin knew it was just for their protection. He hated to act like that, taking care of small things, what normal people don’t have to.
He stood in front of his big mirror in the bathroom before his date and felt like if it would be his first one, pretty nervous and excited. The main thing what shadowed his mood was how Kazu-chan will react about his identity that will be unhidden soon. Everything depended on that moment. The first meet, the first reactions. What will the guy’s eyes reflect? Surprise? Shock? Disappointment?
Jin didn’t want to change anything in their relationship, but he couldn’t separate them. They were effected each other. Just half an hour before the date he stepped out of his fancy flat fresh showered, with a bumping heart and wearing his stylish baggy clothes. It was time to go up to the stage of his life and play a big one.
***
The night after the promise of the meeting Kazuya could hardly sleep. He didn’t know what was with him, his heart was beating and he lived himself into the meeting so much, that it would be a total disappointment if it was canceled. He wondered why he was looking forward to it that much. Who was Fernandez to him? Not just he didn’t know how the other looked like, but did he know the real personality of the man?
Maybe Kame was just clinging into something non-existing too much, but he couldn’t stop himself for hoping the best.
“Life is not fairytale.” He told himself when he went to work the next day. His self-protection started to work and his doubts flooded him like a river. What if it gets cancelled? What if he will be hurt? What if he didn’t get to know the real Fernandez through phone? Is it even possible to get to know someone only from phonecalls? He knew, he had too many questions and he should stop thinking.
He plugged his earphone into his ear and pushed the random button on his player. Of course he was listening to the CD of Akanishi Jin. It still could calm him down.
“What you worry ‘bout will be alright” He heard the man singing. Is this a sign? Or was he just too dense to see signs in things like this? Nah, whatever, he had to hurry, he was daydreaming too much, the traffic lights already changed red again.
Time flew very slowly. Secretly he waited for confirmation call from Fernandez about the meet, but at the same time he didn’t want him to call. If he called, it could be a cancellation too. So it’s better if he didn’t call at all. Like this, it is sure the meeting will come true.
Because of the questions, daydreams, possible outcomes were mixing in his head he couldn’t concentrate onto work. It disturbed him so much that first he was thinking about to talk about this with Hiro, but then he decided he won’t tell anyone but his brothers. It was kind of self-protection too. If it went bad, he didn’t want his only friend to see his misery. He wanted to go on -if he could that is- as if nothing happened. Noone should make worried faces, life should just go on.
Minutes seemed to be days and it drove him crazy that much his brothers were somewhat worried.
“Kazu?” Yuuichirou looked at him at the breakfast desk. “Is your love not going well?”
This question caught Kame off guard and he almost dropped the teacup. Love? What?? No, no, no! He was NOT in love with Fernandez that much... that much? He was not at all… at all? Right? Arghhh!
“W… what? No, I am not in love, everything is okay, I am just… look, please take care of your brothers, today I have to meet someone, okay?” He said trying to sound natural, not nervous at all. The little boy grinned, understanding everything.
“Daaaate!” He cheered.
“No, no! Just… a meeting!” Kame tried to deny, but the child already was chatting with his brothers about the fact their old brother is in love and going to date.
“Children…” Kame sighed and looked at the clock. His heart was bumping as he headed to his room to get ready. Tho the coat and checked scarf was decided before, he was thinking a lot about what to wear under the coat. He didn’t really care before how he dressed or if he was liked by people or he dressed pretty, but now he just wasn’t satisfied with anything he found. He tried on almost all of his T-shirts but it was a tough choice. But really, why is he worked up so much because of this one meeting? It was not even sure he will have the chance to take his coat off.
Once he found himself okay enough which lasted a long time, he stepped out with a racing heart and heard the comment and laugh from Yuuichirou: “It’s okay if you don’t come home for the night!”
***
Roppongi was lighted with millions of illuminations. Dating couples took over the Midtown walking along the meandering paths hand in hand. There was no tree without tiny flash bulbs and even parks were cowered with light carpets changing colors on the rhythm. The feeling was close to a real stage, flood of lights and people everywhere.
Jin arrived somewhat earlier with the car, but first he didn’t dare to get out of the car. He sat behind the dark glass and observed the crowd. His eyes searched for the guy, but it was impossible in that mass. Just after the minute hand left the twelve he got himself together, put his huge sunglass on and left the black car. His hoody and the shades hid his face enough from the strange people and his chicken-self set up a ‘B’ Plan on the way. If something goes bad, or he finds a suspicious man standing on the meeting spot, he can disappear without being noticed. He hoped Kazu-chan won’t fuck him over.
Jin cut himself through the mass slowly while his eyes searched for the checked coat and scarf he was told. The path made some curves letting the lovers hid for a brief kiss before continuing their walk, what made Jin difficult to take a long look at everyone. After the next corner he had a better view of the place and could watch the people standing at that small square. Next to a huge stone column he spotted finally the red checked coat man with the red scarf. He stopped and made a step back surprised hiding a little in one of the lover’s set-backs. The guy haven’t looked pretty at all, actually somewhat older and overweighed. Jin’s lips curved down and a disappointed sight left his mouth.
He hoped too much? Maybe he lived too much into it. He was so sure Kazu-chan is good looking and younger than him. Fail…
His back touched the wall and his wide shoulders went down. What’s now? Sneaking back to the car, leaving and never looking back? That sounded inviting for him. At the same time Kazu-chan’s smooth voice in his head stopped him from doing that. He longed to hear that voice again playing with words and making him a giggling idiot.
Not fair! Jin kicked the air pouting. His dream word was all over. He should just walk there and talk to the man at last. May he is nice and they can be friends… shit, he should go there and yell at the guy ‘what the fuck is he thinking to make him a fool!’ … no, that would be a bad idea, and everyone would be audience. He won’t make his state even worse with that.
Jin sighed again and pushed himself from the wall to go into the man’s direction. His legs felt heavy and he repeated ‘that’s the right decision you could choose’ inside him. After a few steps he managed to do a running woman pushed him away as she passed Jin by with loud taps and stopped in front of the waiting man in the red checked coat making deep bows. The man let out some pouting comments about the lateness of the woman. After that couple left the place hurrying somewhere, that might be was the cinema nearby and left a starring Akanishi behind with open mouth rooted on the spot.
“What? Ehh… w…wha…”
Jin frowned his eyebrows for a few minutes before he looked back to the column again and recognized another red checked coat there. His eyes widened in surprise and his heart left out a rhythm before speeding up. He slowly approached the place where he spotted the piece of red coat. Step by step the article of clothe become from the arm part into a whole jacket completed with nice pair of stylish jeans, boots, large checked scarf wrapped around and a cap hiding a small and young guy under that standing aside.
The boy couldn’t recognize Jin, because he was busy with checking his watch again and again. He seemed to be freezing a little and his cheeks were red from coldness, he must have been waiting for long. Akanishi’s grin grew all the way and his steps got easier with every step. The long locks spread over the scarf and some of them disappeared in that while taking the pretty face around. Jin took his shades off to feast his eyes longer on the nice profile with the pouting lips. ‘L.U.C.K.Y!’
Akanishi approached the young man with wide smile and stopped in front of him gladly. The distant look rose at him and fixed there. A pair of big brown eyes glued on him reflecting surprise. The lips parted away too but without coming any sounds out starring at the arrived man. Their eyes met and kept a long contact while their brain caught up with the information. Jin snatched at the chance and broke the silence still showing his disarming smile.
“Hi, have you been waiting long?”
***
Kazuya thought walking slowly will make him arrive less earlier. However this slowly wasn’t as slow as it was planned. The opposite. He hurried to Midtown like hell, not really feeling the coldness around. Once he got there he stopped at a spot he thought would be well seen and looked at his watch. How great… he arrived 40 minutes earlier. It was killing him, because he had a lot of time to think. And to think deeply in a matter of this was never good, he could make himself panicked at any minute.
‘Calm down’ He said to himself and looked around hoping the scenery will take his mind off of thinking too much about this meeting, but he failed terribly. As soon as he looked around he saw kissing couples and dating people. It seemed every of them were waiting for their lovers.
Kame felt a little envious of the girl whose boyfriend arrived and hugged her, both with cheerful smiles and as shining eyes as the Christmas illuminations were around them.
This made him think into the direction he didn’t want to think the most. Who is he waiting for? Not his lover right? Then yet again….why is this feeling in him that he wants to do the same as the couple once Fernandez arrived? Oh he was so childish really. Did he make the good decision with coming? Something said him deep inside he did. But that voice was probably just his desperation of wanting this to come out right so much.
20 minutes passed and he was already tired because of thinking. He thought about every possibility he could come up with, every little thing, combining things, and mostly….overthink this all. Setting a B plan if something went wrong he will just pretend he got an emergency phonecall from his brother and go away. As dumb as it seemed, it was the only thing he could come up with.
He looked at his watch. Still 20 minutes until 7. IF Fernandez arrives in time…. IF he even comes. No confirmation call, should he really live himself into it this much? He can be so hurt like never. Did he even realize what he got himself into? Probably not.
7 o’clock… Kazuya desperately looked around, but none of the guys who might have been Fernandez came to his way. All of them went to their girlfriends.
Who will come his way? Maybe no one… But he hoped Fernandez will come. He wanted to know how the mysterious man looks like and most likely…he wanted to know what is between them -if there was anything that is…-. He hated the fact even the cold couldn’t take his mind off of the situation tho he felt really cold.
The young man started to be more and more desperate as he kept looking at his watch and minutes just past, 10, 15 and there was still no sign of Fernandez. He began to feel totally disappointed. The man won’t come right? He changed his mind, right? He was not able to tell his real name… and Kame trusted him that much he actually believed he could meet. LIFE.IS.NOT.A.FAIRYTALE. How many times did he have to repeat it to himself until he acknowledges it? Should he go home? Or wait a little more? He decided he will wait until 19:30…or 45… if there was no sign of the awaited man he will go home.
He sighed and looked at his watch yet again, the 10th times in the past 2 minutes. He kept looking around and suddenly felt someone stop next to him, close. He looked up and his eyes widened, he thought he will faint at that second. The man was looking at him in the eyes. Kazuya lost grip of time, lost any thread of thoughts, he knew that his mouth was surely open in awe and his eyes reflect shock and great surprise. Akanishi Jin. The man who gave him the life power to live, the man who he wanted to meet so badly to say thank you, the man he…what?? What was Akanishi Jin doing here?? And looking at him with such a smile? He collapsed in the cold and now this is not true? Or what? He was so really shocked as never before, his heart was pounding in his chest threatening to break out and he knew he really must make the dumbest face he had ever made, but he couldn’t help it. He was not cold at all anymore.
Kazuya heard the man asking him something but he needed time until he registered the words, he needed time until he digested it is Akanishi Jin standing in front of him. But why?
“Uh…oh…hi” he said awkwardly. Can it be that…
The shock that replaced the first surprise made Jin to take back from his growing smile and start to worry about the poor guy.
“S… sorry for making you wait so long. It was somewhat difficult to get there through the crowd. Are you okay? It’s pretty cold.”
Okay…this must be either a dream either he went crazy because thinking too much. But it looked so real. His most respected person, his meaning of strength was standing next to him, speaking with him as if they were friends for long. Oh God… This was the time it struck him, when he realized the shocking truth. Fernandez is Akanishi Jin!! THIS was what he didn’t expect at all. He just couldn’t believe it. A minute before he was standing, waiting desperately. And now… he was expected to talk with Akanishi Jin. He was not prepared to that and he felt as shy as never.
“Ah..n…no it is…okay. I am fine. Sorry for…calling you here in this cold, ermm I mean…ummm.” What was he saying? No, it can’t be. No, Akanishi Jin can’t be Fernandez. He wouldn’t risk this much. “A..are you sure you…are looking for me? Emm.. you see…I am waiting for someone and…but uhh…” He couldn’t form normal sentences and was really not prepared to all of this.
Jin knew now he must have been shocking if he could make this guy that embarrassed. It would be better to keep on his glasses. Maybe there was a chance he made a failure again? He was that sure this guy is his Kazu-chan, isn’t it? He frowned his eyebrows and looked around him. No, no red checked coat in view at all. Jin turned back to the babbling guy certainly.
“Are you… Kazu-chan, ne?”
Bangggg. Dear God. Kame’s heart stopped and then started to beat even faster than before, he really started to feel a little dizzy. Akanishi really must be Fernandez!
“F…Fernandez-san?” He sounded hesitating, still not being able to acknowledge the facts.
Fufufufu! Jin let out a relived sigh while his sparkling smile showed up again. He found Kazu-chan finally and a handsome Kazu-chan.
“YEAH! … I mean… Yes, it’s me.” He watched the dazed face in front of him, before realizing he caused more shock, then surprise. “Sorry for the whole fake identity and all. You don’t know why was that so important for me. I mean you know now… maybe. Ne? Um… I can introduce properly… finally. Akanishi Jin, yoroshiku.” the nervousness inside him grew and awkward laughter cut his sentences and made them messy.
Kame was still in daze, no, he just couldn’t digest everything so fast. It was a pleasant shock by the way, but he was so nervous, he couldn’t think straight. All his plans of where to go or what to do disappeared and he was just standing there with pounding heart. Now he knew the real name of the man and understood why the fake identity. He just didn’t understand one thing: why did he _Akanishi Jin_ really come and risk himself?
“Ah..uh…K…Kamenashi Kazuya, yoroshiku onegaishimasu.” He said politely and bowed a little more than he should maybe. What else should he say? What else can he say? Uhh… “Yes I…totally understand now.” He tried to speak normally, not wanting to show his nervousness but he knew he failed in it.
“It’s Ok, just call me Jin.”
Uhh..okay. He don’t know how hard it will be, right? “Okay…Jin.” It was just indescribable and at the same time a little awkward. He should say something! Anything!
“Well, you can stay by Fernandez if that’s more… if you’d like, un.” he scratched his head nervously and looked around checking their surroundings. It was time to leave soon.
“No no, it’s okay Akani--- Jin.” He smiled, but he knew the other can see through him how he was shaking inside.
“Yosh!” Jin’s mood took off again and he didn’t recognize when his hand caught the other ones for a simple handshake. He used to do that with his own buddies, even find out new ones with Ben that choreography only they knew. But the other man’s hand was ice cold and didn’t imitate his movement. “Oh, sorry. You must have been shivering for long. What about pace off and continue chatting at a nice and warm place?”
The minute Jin’s hand touched his, he let out a little gasp and his heart started to beat in his throat after stopping. The mere second was like an eternity and Kame started to realize what he was feeling for this man is more than simple adoration… maybe. He was afraid from that thought too.
“H…hai!” He looked at Jin, tried to look into his eyes, but he was just too shy sometimes. “I…don’t worry, I am okay, it is my fault I came earlier.” With this he just gave himself away right? How embarrassing.
“Wut? Earlier?” Akanishi’s eyebrows run up. How much earlier exactly? and on the top of that he was late too. May Kazu-chan caught a cold already thanks to him. Great! It was no time to think about, he took the ice cold hand tighter but carefully pulling the younger man after him. “Then we leave right now, OK?” But it was not a question, rather a statement. He put on his huge dark glasses and cut through the lovely couples back to the black car with quick steps.
This was somewhat incredible to Kame. He and Akanishi Jin, were holding each other’s hands on Christmas, cutting through the lovers, whose hands were joined too. He didn’t know if his heart can take so much, won’t it explode? Deep inside his mind, he imagined a date with Fernandez but never did he imagine him to be who he was. He let himself being pulled, following the other wherever he wants to go.
They made back into the car in a few minutes. Jin let the other’s hand and opened the door for the starring Kazu-chan. They disappeared behind the dark glasses where they got their privacy finally. Inside he loosened up somewhat and waved to the driver before they set out to the picked hotel. On the way he didn’t dare to take his shades off again and his glance returned to the window and the illumination outside.
“It’s beautiful, ne? The Christmas illumination.”
He thought he couldn’t be more surprised, but he was wrong. Never in his life did he get treatment like this. Opening the door for him was something he has never lived through before and even if this was a small action, but for him it was somewhat big. The feeling of gratefulness grew inside him more and more towards that man, but with this, his nervousness too. He sat into the car next to the sunglassed man and still couldn’t believe where he was. So many first things happened to him in just a few minutes. The treatment, the car… he had never sat in a type of car like this.
He wanted to say something, but nothing came out, so he was just sitting there, silently, heart beating and no matter how he tried to get himself at ease, he became more and more nervous as the happenings finally started to sink in him.
“Ah, yes. Very beautiful.” Like this the conversation will die again and Akanishi will think he is boring. Come on Kazuya, tell him what you always wanted! “I…like illuminations. You too?” He was fidgeting with his fingers without noticing it.
“Un… me too.” the awkward silence weighted heavily on them inside the moving vehicle. Tho Jin’s eyes searched the flashing lights automatically as always, but his thoughts were back at the man sitting next to him. Kazu-chan was always so chatty and open, opposite as right now. His look sneaked back at the young man time to time checking if he was still there. Yeah, they agreed on Midtown not on a hotel room. Jin felt guilty that because of him they can’t spend some time walking around on that place like normal people do enjoying the illuminations. He saw now that maybe he acted selfishly changing the dating spot without asking the other man. Maybe Kazu-chan was disappointed already because of that. “Um… sorry…”
Kame looked at him, really surprised. He didn’t get why the other apologized.
“Sorry? For what?”
“We couldn’t walk around at Midtown and watch the illumination.”
“Oh that?” Kame smiled. As he thought. Akanishi Jin is not that bastard as his image shows. He seems to be a good man with care for others. And…not to mention he looked awfully handsome. “Don’t worry about that please.” He felt warm around his heart suddenly, but his nervousness didn’t disappear. “B..by the way, may I know where are we going?” He couldn’t stop talking in somewhat polite way.
“We’re going to a nice hotel.” Jin’s fingers tapped on his knee nervously.
Kazuya’s eyes widened. HOTEL??? What for? Huh? Eh? “H..hotel?” His cheeks got a little shape of red and wondered how many times can a person be shocked per day this much.
Without thinking about any double-meaning the singer cleared his throat and continued on his normal peremptory manner still avoiding the younger’s look. “Yep. We can have more privacy there.”
More privacy? If he knew better he would think it was in that meaning. But he couldn’t really imagine Akanishi Jin wants that from him. Because of the shock the image of Fernandez became a little misty, he still couldn’t match the two people together. “H..hai.”
For a few minutes silence sneaked back between them again while Jin checked his iPhone. There were some missed calls and new mails he got, but he didn’t care about them. Only the message of his best buddy was worth enough for him to check.
fm: Ben
What’s up man! I’m dying to hear about your blind-date. Call me! (≧σ≦)
Jin chuckled but wanted to keep the conversation up. After a while he said the first random question he could come up with, while he fumbled with his phone.
“How are the kids? Are they still torturing you?”
Kame was still in somewhat shock state so it took him some seconds until he realized why Akanishi Jin knows about his brothers. “Oh, they are fine, they teased me like hell, they yelled date, date.” Oops, he shouldn’t say this. He felt embarrassed. It was not a date at all. What is he saying in front of Akanishi? And why was he on the phone?
Jin burst out in laughter thinking on the scene. His deep voice eased the tension and surrounded them. After he caught his breath back he removed his glasses and decided to answer Ben’s mail while talking to Kazu-chan. “They must be cool guys.”
The laughter sounded nice. Thinking back, the voice of Fernandez sometimes was somewhat like Jin’s. But that they really are the same person…who would have thought? Kazuya always believed the resemblance was just his fantasy. Tho they were somewhat still two different people to him. He stole a glance at the man next to him quickly but tore his eyes away in a heartbeat. If he could just beat this shyness out of himself…
He was curious what hotel they will be in. It will be the first too. He was never in a normal hotel before.
fm: Jin
Suck for you, jegga! He is prettier then all of your babes. o(≧∇≦o)
fm: Ben
Dammen! Lemme checkit and send a pic dude. ψ(=▼=)ψ
fm: Jin
GEAP*…DonBenetto, hahaha! XD
Kazuya looked there time to time what the singer was doing and he sadly saw that the man was more into his iPhone than anything else. Most likely Akanishi had no interest in him, he caused the other disappointment. He must have seen so many beautiful people in the industry, Kazuya was nowhere near them in look maybe. Surely, Jin didn’t expect someone like him to appear and now he must be somewhat down. He is just polite so he won’t throw him out at the street, but the young man wouldn’t be surprised if they go to the station instead of a hotel. He suppressed a sigh. This day just took a crazy turn not long ago.
The car slowed down and turned on the next corner when Akanishi’s eyes shined up.
“We are almost there, yosh!”
“Oh really?” Great. Why can’t he say something…normal? Something that could make him stay just a little longer with Jin…
He felt the car comes to a stop and at that moment he noticed he was fidgeting with his hands all the way. He didn’t dare to look up for some seconds, he didn’t want to hear the apology, the other had to go to work and he was taken to the station. This was the end, right? And he doubted they will ever talk again. However when he looked up, first the surprise then the nervousness was evident on his face again. No, it was not the station. Nor bus stop, but a real big hotel. The boy was confused about the other and didn’t really know yet again how he should behave. If only he could be his teasing self as on the phone!
Just after the car stopped a hotel doorman opened the door on Akanishi’s side and let them out of it. The hotel was in a representative place of the city. A huge building was breaking towards to the sky, like a black crystal. The front door was huge and double glassed, that let an unbelievable view inside where the fancy interior ruled the hallway. It was patently obvious, that customers here were from the wealthy society. A place, where successful business men met, and idols from the entertainment industry, who wanted to stay for some days at the city.
First Jin went forward, but stopped at the door looking back to the younger man checking if he was followed by Kazu-chan or not. They made into the hall quickly where another staff welcomed them turning to the singer asking him politely to follow him.
Kazuya was busy looking around in amazement. The big shiny chandeliers on the ceiling, the fancy sofas and the whole atmosphere made him feel as if he was in a movie. He had never been at a place like this and it really made him lose his words. He stepped into a dream and it was so weird feeling. As if he was not on earth anymore, he could not digest things yet, so much happened in such a short time really. Suddenly, in one minute his whole life took a turn, it changed and he was lifted into a life he could never experience. Tho he was sure it will not last longer than a few hours or even less. He wished he could show it to his brothers at least once tho.
The elevator lifted them up to the 31st floor. On the whole way up and the glass walls were giving them an entrancing spectacle to the lighted city. Jin’s pleased smile was back as soon as he saw the younger man with mouth agape. By his plan he was thinking out point for point he was attend to amaze the other man at the same time. Maybe it will help him to replace a simple date at the city and make it to a precious moment for Kazu-chan.
The hotel door opened in front of them and closed again after the hotel staff left them alone finally. Jin took his jacket off and threw it onto the nearest couch. The living room they were in was the hugest part of the suit. A large, U-formed white sofa ruled the whole and it was bigger than a room at Kazuya’s house. From floor to ceiling there was the glass wall on two sides giving a view to the city. On the other sides was the huge plazma TV on the wall with high-tech equipment and a whole bar and kitchen at the corner.
Akanishi went there and checked the bottle what was placed in a shine holder filled with ice.
“Yosh, it’s a Dom p**! I hope you like it.” he turned to the standing man in front of the door and lifted the bottle showing it to Kazuya.
Yet again Kame started to feel dizzy, his brain had a very hard time acknowledge and accept all of the things that was happening, all that was in front of his eyes. He had no voice to form sentences, nothing came out as his mouth was still unable to close. He tried to express with his expression how amazed he was because words just couldn’t describe it. It was not the same world he was living in. This whole suit was almost bigger than his house tho it was just a part of a hotel. This is how wealthy people lived?
He was just standing there miserably, as a kid who sees the world for the first time, still in his coat, looking around but the voice of Jin snapped him out of his thoughts and made him remember the fact he couldn’t acknowledge the most: he was here with Akanishi Jin.
“Uh..oh…I have..never drank that before…” Oh how lame answer.
“It’s delicious. I like it.” the singer smiled kindly. He didn’t know how to loosen up Kazuya’s tension. The younger man got a shock definitely standing in the doorway and starring around speechless. Jin realized that he overshot it pretty well. “Make you at home Kazu-chan. We have food, champagne, and good view to enjoy.”
“T..thank you Akanishi-sa--- J…Jin.” He took the glass with a little trembling hand. Fabulous. Can’t he say one sentence without stuttering? But well, he was surprised he could say anything at all. He was a little surprised at the other’s behavior as well. So open, so nice and so…kind. Not as if they met at the first time. As if they knew each other for long.
Arghh, this is FERNANDEZ, of course you are not strangers. As this fact slowly started to make it until his brain he was more shocked. It was actually Akanishi Jin who he said EVERYTHING about himself, his family, who became his…best friend? He wondered what to do from now on.
Jin handed the glass of champagne to the younger man and said ‘cheers’ before he swallowed his whole drink. It helped him to relax more and he hoped for Kazu-chan too. In other case he has to think out something quickly to save this date from the totally catastrophe.
“Look, I ordered some food.” He pointed to the tree serving trolley standing next to the inviting table at the glass wall. The staff laid it with great care, even placing nice flowers onto it. “I didn’t know what would you like, so we have some different kind… hmm maybe a lot, but… hehe… choose what you want Kazu-chan.”
He shyly raised his glass too and drank it with the same speed as Jin. This was it, he hoped alcohol -which he did’t drink often- will help him at least a little in easing the tension.
Next shock: food.
He always cooked for himself, but far from these expensive food, which were now offering themselves to him. Why did he feel a little guilty eating them without the kids?
“Huh… thank you, really, uhh…” He still stuttered, but he started to feel the effect of the alcohol he drank really quickly. Tho yet not enough to help him relax. Start a conversation, come on! “Umm… what is your favorite food?” …WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD?? Nice…just, really… he couldn’t be more horrible than this.
Akanishi was putting a huge steak onto his plate when the younger man called his attention with his question and he turned to the man.
“Umm… my favorite one?” He thought carefully on it. His favorite? He was not picky at all. “Something… meat… um, yeah. I like meat, every kind of it.”
Kame blinked at the man who seemingly really felt no tension at all and couldn’t suppress a chuckle at how cute he was.
“Sorry, I didn’t want to laugh.” Just it was cute. That he didn’t dare to say aloud.
“It’s okay.” Jin showed his smile again. Kazu-chan’s chuckle was cute just like in the phone when he spoke, but now the older man could see how his cheeks got a small flush. “Go on, ne before it get cold.” Akanishi started chowing a piece of roasted lamb while eyeing the small guy next to him. “By the way, what’s your favorite?”
He was in trouble what to choose. First of all, he just knew one food he had eaten back then, the others he didn’t. “Hmmm…. well, I have never eaten the most of these. I like a lot of food, I am not picky at all.” He didn’t have the lifestyle to allow himself to choose what to eat. Now he could and didn’t hesitate to pick the food he always wanted to try.
The singer hummed while still watching the other. Kazu-chan acted cute, but it was strange that the guy hasn’t noticed that he has still his coat on. He must be absentminded totally. When Jin saw that the younger guy hesitated above the food, he stepped closer to him and pointed at the food naming them one by one.
“That’s beef steak and roasted lamb. That’s chicken and vegetable, and those are sushi from a really good place, and that…”
Kazuya didn’t really hear what the other man was saying, he could just concentrate on how close the man suddenly was to him. He started to feel hot, and he panicked a little without showing it. Can it be that Akanishi has THIS effect on him? He shouldn’t feel this hot…it was not normal. Just when he really started to worry did he realize that he still had his coat on. Even if his cheek wasn’t already blushed, he would have now.
He looked at Jin for a fleeting second then put the food down, started to take the material off. His heart was pounding. Did he choose the right shirt? Now he was more anxious over it, because of the true identity of his date. No, it was NOT a date.
Akanishi stopped his sentence, when the smaller man made some steps away from him and took his coat off. He giggled how shy Kazu-chan behaved, but he didn’t want to tease the guy more so he took the plates and settled with them to the dining table. As long as the younger joined to him he poured another round of champagne. For a while they were busy with eating the meal they choose. At last Jin’s attention was on his steak as long as it disappeared in front of him.
Kame was nervous sitting next to the man, he was trembling bit inside so it was hard to eat. The food was delicious, but the fact who he was sitting next to made butterflies into his stomach. Here came the savior: the drink. He gulped it down, desperately seeking relaxation from it. Tho Akanishi’s attention was fully on the food not on him.
The young man drank all too fast again and because he was not used to the alcohol at all, he started to feel a little dizzy and maybe a little more relaxed but only until they stopped eating.
“Ahhh… that was delicious, ne!” Jin’s deep voice broke the silence after the eating.
“Yes, it was very tasty. I always cook for myself so it was a fresh feeling eating a dish like this.” He smiled and decided he won’t show his nervousness. Will he succeed in it?
“Oh, I see… and what do you like to cook usually?” The thought of Kazu-chan could be a good sheaf got sparkles into the singers eyes. He can’t cook, or at last never tried. He just loves to eat.
“I like to cook in general. But my brothers say I am the best in cooking several kinds of pasta and so maybe I like to cook that the most actually.” He didn’t really dare to look into the others eyes and was still fidgeting with either the edge of the sofa, either his fingers.
Akanishi’s smile widened more and more while he listened to the younger man. His whole attention was on Kazu-chan now and he turned somewhat into the boy’s direction too.
“Wow. I like pasta too. Your brothers are lucky ne. When do you cook for them if you working at nights?
Lucky? Was this a compliment? He blushed against his own will. God, now Jin’s attention was fully on him and it made him embarrassed.
“L..lucky? I am not that good.” He scratched his head a bit and became more red. His heart started to beat faster again. “Usually at my little break I have between my jobs.”
“Oh,… un, I see.” For Jin it got clear, that Kazu-chan won’t loosen up as he thought they will spend the evening. When awkward silence sneaked back again replacing their conversation, he started to feel lost. This date got to be a failure. He watched the guy next to him who couldn’t hide his embarrassment. Where was his chatty cute Kazu-chan? He lost it? He destroyed everything with this stupid idea to set a meeting? He felt baffled making the other disappointed. Did it feel Kazu-chan disappointed in Jin?
The singer ran his fingers through his dark hair and sighed. This date seemed to be hopeless.
“S-so sorry… I shouldn’t have pushed you to meet me.”
Kazuya snapped his head surprised at the man. Why was he saying things like this? Was he this disappointed?
“W..what? What do you mean?” He asked totally confused.
“I was right with you will change as soon as you see me.”
Uhh ohh. It struck Kame like a lightning. He should explain all, he should tell what he always wanted to. Come on Kamenashi, it is your only chance!
“Changed? It’s just …uhh…” Say it, SAY IT!
Jin sighed and was not that high at all.
“No, you don’t have to say sorry. I can see you are disappointed. You don’t like this, ne? It’s written on your face.”
Written on his face?? He gives wrong signs this much? He had to save the situation somehow and took a deep breath to collect his courage. He couldn’t be a chicken. No. The young man poured the glass full with champagne, gulped it down and started to speak.
“Can I be honest with you? I won’t lie to you. I won’t say I have never heard of Akanishi Jin. I did, I know who you are, and at the same time I don’t. I know who media wants people to believe you are but please don’t be mad at me, but I don’t believe the image they created you. I don’t believe at all you are a bad, evil, heartbreaking playboy or a drug addict with like 3 girlfriends which is always on the titles of the magazines I pass by while going to work.”
Jin got surprised when the slim guy next to him suddenly swallowed another glass of champagne and placed the crystal glass to the table with loud clang and burst out. His eyes glued on the boy curiously and waited where this will lead.
“The first time I saw you was on the screen when you sang one of your songs. I didn’t even knew your name, but for me you seemed like a normal man with great talent and maybe… a little lonely? Who is singing because he loves music, not because of hunger of fame or things like that. I can’t understand fans, I am sorry but I could never see someone as God who is above everyone. The reason I said that at the same time I don’t know you, because tho I believe your true you is how Fernandez was, we met today at the first time and I don’t know many things about you. As for what I heard I don’t give a damn. I don’t care of your bad reputation at all. People can talk what they want, they can never know.” Okay, this was going too far. He had a lot of things he wanted to say, but he said enough already. Surely Akanishi will be even furious.
The singer looked at the guy through narrowed eyes. What is he talking about now? Is Kazu-chan drunk to behave suddenly like that? He expected everything but this. Well this was the real Kazu-chan ne, or not?
“I..I am sorry. And.. I thought you are disappointed in me. I…you see I was just fully surprised. And… I have never got this treatment as now. It is as if it’s another world even. I go to places I could never afford, I eat food I have just seen on pictures…In one minute my life took a total turn…And…” his voice died. God, he really overdid it this time. Should he just apologize and go away?
When the boy’s voice died and stayed there in front of Akanishi totally embarrassed again with lowered head he took a deep breath and started to talk.
“Ne, I was sure I can’t see the Kazu-chan today I talked to so much before.”
What was this supposed to mean? He felt so much embarrassed and the other didn’t react as he thought he might would so maybe this was a bad sign?
“A…and?” He asked and already blamed the alcohol for being able to say this all. The last glass was maybe a little too much, he really should just stand up and maybe even run.
Jin’s chuckle echoed in the huge living room. Maybe Kazuya seemed miserable but too cute to be mad at him. Why should he? He just got the best compliment ever.
“…and now? Can I catch more of it?”
Kame blushed at this and he really wondered how much his heart can take. This chuckle was just too cute to be true and as he watched the man, he realized again how handsome and beautiful the other was. Akanishi Jin looked even better live than on screen or pictures. Charming and he realized his words again died and all he did was just staring at the man. And at this remark. God, was this because of the alcohol the phonecalls came to his mind? THAT kind of phonecalls. He really should go. And he really shouldn’t have drunk that last glass.
“I would be glad, but it is already late and I… have to go home with the last train. You know, my brothers” No, he didn’t want to go. God, what now? His heart was about to erupt, his mind acknowledged the fact he really felt more than friendship about this man. Both, Fernandez and Akanishi. And they were the same person. “I… really enjoyed it, I am sorry of my behavior. Thank you for everything!” He stood up, but his heart screamed what are you doing?? You coward!!
First Jin was enjoying the show how the other guy was effected by everything he did or said. He felt how it turned to be a date. The cute blushing on Kazu-chan warmed his heart and he got to be a schoolboy again with an idiot smile on his face like always they talked and teased each other on phone. But when the younger was ready to leave and stood up his eyebrows run up shocked.
“Eeeeh? Wait … wha..eeh?”
Kazuya stepped back with one step, the panic was evident on his face, because of the effect of the alcohol he couldn’t really hide it. But he knew, if he stayed, maybe his other part will wake up and THAT would be the total fail.
“Please don’t worry, I swear to my life I won’t tell anyone what happened today, please trust me. And…Thank you for everything really. Tho… I don’t know why you risked yourself, but your secret will stay with me. And really, I apologize for being rude with you because you didn’t want to tell your name.” He was so disappointed in himself, he chose to escape. But what could he do in an absurd situation like this? He never felt something like this next to any person and he couldn’t deal with the new feeling. Not in a tipsy state.
Jin was sitting there with wide eyes and was at loss. He is really going to be get rid of? Maybe it was the alcohol but the older man recognized how Kazu-chan’s shyness grew, tho he rose his brown eyes on to the singer time to time. He was of no minor interest, that Jin was able to notice and now the younger man just jumped up to leave?
“Excuse me… what?”
“I…I am sorry, but… I have to…go.” Yabai. Really, Kame already didn’t really know what he was saying, everything was flowing like a film and was so unreal. He wanted to ask why Akanishi did what he did, but the other would have already said it if he wanted, right? He bowed and started to hurry at the direction of the door, fighting with himself.
Jin’s reaction got slow from the shock. First just a weak ‘wait’ what maybe only he was able to hear, but he repeated it louder and more accurate.
“Wait, Hey…wait, wait!...” the older man crossed the room with long steps and before Kazuya could have reached the door knob he made him stop by grabbing on of his hand. “Please wait a little.”
Kame gasped and looked at him with eyes widening a little, but then tore his gaze away immediately. His heart was beating madly, only this one little touch made his body to act up. Oh God, he really had to go away, quickly. Why was the other doing this? He knew that nothing can happen between them, so why embarrassing himself even more? With eyes fixated onto the ground he whispered “Why?” and hoped the other won’t hear it.
If Akanishi was surprised before now he looked like a big question mark with popped out eyes.
“What do you mean why?”
Was this question serious or he just didn’t want to answer? “I mean…why did you risk so much? I could be a crazy fan or someone who would play you out.” As soon as he gets the answer he will go.
“…’cause, it’s not…enough. The phone calls are not enough for me!” Jin was maybe harsh saying out those words loud. His hand that still held Kame’s pulled the younger closer and the other wrapped around the slim waist pushing and turning the guy to the nearest wall until he could feel the small body pressing against his. Kazuya was not able to react when their lips met for a brief kiss. Jin pressed his forehead against the others and felt the light trembling of the man.
“I just wanted to feel you in my arms, … just once… feel you really.”
