How To Fight Back Against Anti-Gay Bigotry-For Eternity

Aug 02, 2008 02:15

Orson Scott Card has dashed off yet another bigoted screen against gay marriage, the sheer idiocy of which has been thoroughly derided elsewhere (zarq links to several rejoinders). What strikes me as particularly nonsensical, in light of his contributions to literature, is Card's heavy reliance on reproductive biology to bolster his argument. Hang on ( Read more... )

Jesse Helms ♥ Malcolm X

*snort*

I clicked on the column, failed to read much of it, then got sidetracked by the white dresses. Are these what the virgins wear around town to advertise their hymens? Assuming not, what's the significance?

Sorry, don't know; AdBlocker Plus suppresses them. Do they look like these?

Okay-I wrote a little about them here, in the last section. Given their spaciousness in the abdominal region, I would guess that most are designed for married women.

Ugh, it was so horrible I couldn't finish reading it. It makes me sad that I actually read and enjoyed several of his books when I was a teen. Boooooooo ( ... )

Exactly. I've known many gay couples. Hell, I went to Oberlin, where the Gay & Lesbian Union was the strongest student organization on campus. And in my experiences gay couples are no different from regular folks. In fact, gay unions seem to be more stable than heterosexual ones, perhaps because mutual comfort in the face of societal disapproval tends to strengthen the emotional bond ( ... )

Interesting-I didn't know that. I was a kid when Church President Spencer W. Kimball had his famous "revelation" that allowed non-white males into the priesthood. If it took God 160 years to come around on that issue, you can imagine how long it will take him to let women in. (Yet the Church grudgingly allows women to go on missions.)

Gay Marriages for the Dead. How deliciously pranky!

One should, of course, provide properly photoshopped pics of the celebrants. . . with perhaps less subtle shots from the Honeymoon Suite. Suck away, Jesse!

I had thought of something along the lines of

Pope Benedict XVI (at age 8)  ♥  Any pedophile priest
but I thought that might be inflammatory above and beyond the call of duty.

Did you read about the recent congressional hearings at which a bunch of crazies spouted off vast quantities of nonsense about how gays should be outright banned from the US military?

Oh, yeah-I forgot about that one. That video has been up for quite a while; it's one of the earlier ones. My favorite, though has to be this one.
