I just got the chance to watch Eva's story and it really touched me... she had an amazing beauty and strength you dont see often in this world. I only wish I had, had a chance to see your blogs when she was still with us.. however her memory will change so may lives...
Watching you today on OWN. Thank you for sharing your journey Ava. I have cried and cried watching your story, pulling for you and your family. Having been on the other side - sudden death of a loved one - and the choice to donate organs made the saddness of the loss a small celebration. Knowing that Jim was still in some way walking, talking, breathing and seeing have made us feel connected to others. Knowing that in our moment of sorrow that it was a moment of joy for others was a beautiful thing. God bless you Ava and may your family known peace.
Just watched the documentary on OWN. I am a social worker who works is palliative and hospice care and had found Eva's blog several years ago before she died and followed it ever since. I have her Celebration of Love poem taped on my bathroom mirror where I see it every day. It moves me still today as much as the first time I read it. I think Eva is a loving, vibrant, and as much alive in Spirit as she ever was in person. She is an inspiration and her love lives on.
Milwaukee thanks Eva and OWN
