Will rolled over, his arm reaching out for his Mate only to find cold sheets. He opened his eyes and sighed; this was the fifth night Jack had left their bed. He got up, slipped on some pants and headed for the top deck of the Pearl. The pirate was going to tell him what was going on or else.
“Jack.” Will leaned up against the railing next to his Mate.
“That’s me.” Jack gave him a grin, and then turned back out to the sea. “She’s beautiful isn’t she?”
He looked out over the ocean then back at his uncharacteristically quiet lover. “What’s going on?”
“Nothin’.” The vampire shrugged.
“Try again, Jack.” Will pulled his Mate close, slipping his arms around the slim waist. “You’re spooked.”
“Nothin’ to worry ye pretty little….”
“Don’t even go there.” The vampire growled as he stepped back. “We’re Mates, Jack Sparrow and I will not be treated as little woman. I can still best you…”
“Luv’,” Jack pulled him back into his arms. “When will ye learn that I can’t be bested…”
Using their old diversion trick, Will kissed him. “Tell me.”
“Ye ever heard of Davy Jones?” The spooked pirate pulled out of his Mate’s arms and leaned back onto the railing.
“Just the myths of Davy Jones’s locker…” The ex-blacksmith answered.
Sparrow looked at his lover, his tone very serious, deadly series. “Being turned and mated with you has been the best thing that has happened to this old sea dog.” He turned away, his eyes sweeping over the hard-earned ship. “We all have our pasts…mine is catching up with us.”
“Davy Jones?” Will asked concerned. ‘Oh Jack, it doesn’t matter what you’ve done, you are my life.’
“The Black Pearl.” Jack touched her reverently. “A legend in her day, only to be sunk by greed. It was my fault she perished so I made a deal.”
“Nothing you can say will make me walk away.” The former blacksmith forced the wily pirate to look at him. “Nothing…even if you admit that you are madly in love with Cotton’s parrot.”
“He’s a lovely conversationalist, more than the monkey…” The Captain of the Pearl motioned towards the deranged skeleton monkey hanging off the mast cackling at them. “How did we get him again…”
“Annemarie’s revenge for sinking her boat, again.” Will cupped Jack’s cheek and made him look at him. “Jack, don’t make me force it out of you…”
“No, not the…” he moaned. “The kicked puppy eyes…ye’re evil Will Turner.” He sighed and moved out of his Mate’s arms. “I begged Davy Jones for the Pearl -- in return I would give him my soul…”
“Oh Jack…” He wrapped his arms around him resting his chin on the strong shoulder. “When?”
“The thirteen years will be up in six weeks.” Sparrow slipped his hands into his Mates. “I’m a condemned man, and now I have condemned ye…”
Will turned him around. “Who are you?”
“Y’re mate…” Will eyebrow went up. “A pirate…” he stepped back. “Captain Jack Sparrow…”
“And what does Captain Jack Sparrow do best?” His mate demanded arms crossed.
“Drink up me atties yo ho.” The almost seemingly drunk pirate grinned slightly, exaggerating his stance.
“Besides drinking Rum,” Will shook his head laughing lightly. “He gets out of the most ridiculous, impossible…”
“Improbable.”
“Situations… and if I know my Mate he’s already got a plan…” The younger man grinned.
Jack eyes twinkled. “There’s a chest….”
~ Tortuga ~
“What ye got there luv’?”
Will turned and smiled at the grinning pirate. “A letter from Elizabeth.”
Jack’s eyes narrowed. ‘The little lass has struck, she’s a pirate after me booty.’ “And what does our dear Miss Swan want?”
“Jack…”
“What?” Sparrow walked towards the docks. “Just asking what she wants with you. I mean ye left her practically at the alter…”
“Jack…”
“Ye going aren’t you?” Jack stopped and looked at his mate. “Y’re too good a heart, my luv’. See what the little lass wants, but she can’t have ye.”
Will smiled at his crazy lover. “I want only you, my slightly insane pirate.”
“Slightly? I must work on that.” The said crazy pirate turned on his heel and sashayed to the Black Pearl.
~*~
“I don’t have to go.”
“You do, or you would wonder what if, and if something happened then you would wonder more and I can’ t have you wonderin’.” Jack sat down at the desk. “So go see what Elizabeth needs ya for, but no touching.”
Will smiled as he slid into Jack’s lap. “What type of touching are we talking about? I mean there’s a friendly touch.” He laid a hand on his lover’s shoulder. “A more intimate touch.” His hand slid down his chest. “And a claiming touch.” He cupped the growing erection he found through the breeches.
“I like touch three,” The pirate’s eyes dilated with lust. “But no touching her with touch three.”
“Only you.” Will leaned in and kissed him softly. His hands unlaced the breeches slipping in to grasp the hot, hard cock. “Of course there’s another touch…” He slid back and down onto his knees taking the member into his mouth, his tongue swirling around the head before swallowing it down. It didn’t take him long to get Jack to the edge, and with few sucks on the head, Jack came hard. Will licked him clean, then slipped back into his lap kissing him passionately.
“I like that touch best, it’s me favorite.” Sparrow grinned. “You go see Elizabeth, I’ll go get the key.”
“I thought you said it was a picture of the key?” Will stood up and made way towards one of the chest at the end of the bed.
“It’s a cloth representing the key, that’s what was told to me, paid top dollar for that tiny piece of info.” Jack leaned back in the chair.
“Why isn’t your compass working?” The once blacksmith asked. “It should lead us to your heart’s desire, you want to be free so…”
Jack blushed and looked down.
“That’s a new look,” Will stared in shock, a small smile on his face. “I’ve never seen you blush. Jack Sparrow…”
“It shows me the direction of me heart’s desire,” The blushing pirate said. He looked up at his Mate. “It always points to you.”
Will dropped what was in his hands and stalked across the room and pulled Jack into his arms kissing him deeply. “If I didn’t have to leave I would so pound you into the mattress.”
The pirate pulled him close and kissed him hard. “Next time, love.” He gave him one last kiss. “Now go save your bonnie lass.”
“I love you Jack.” Will gave him one last sweet kiss. “Meet me in Tortuga in two weeks.”
“The whores are still slapping me,” Sparrow accused.
“ ‘Cause I keep telling them I’m you.” The ex-blacksmith smirked. “Be careful.”
“I’m Captain Jack Sparrow.”
“That doesn’t encourage me,” Will headed for the door.
“I would do nothing to harm you,” Will looked back at his Mate. It was rare to see the serious moments. Jack shooed him away with his arms and grinned. “Go…before I change my mind and chain you to the bed…and Will…”
“Yes, Jack?”
“I love you too.”

Will smiled as he saw Elizabeth run up the docks, her father calling after her. He gave her a hug and swung her around. He put her down and stepped back when the Governor gave them a disapproving look. “Governor Swann, Miss Swann it’s good to see you both. I do thank you for the pardon so I could come visit.”
“Anything for Elizabeth,” he smiled fondly at his daughter. “And she wanted to see you Mr. Turner.”
“Will you must tell me what has happened this past year.” She grabbed his arm and moved down the decks. “It’s been so boring here…”
“Elizabeth, let the boy breathe.” The Governor smiled at Will. “Let’s go back to the house were we can talk over tea like normal, decent citizens.”
“Thank you for your hospitality.” Will smiled fondly, though he had a sense that something was up.
~*~
“Governor Swann…” Will watched the older nobleman run off in the opposite direction. ‘Even Jack is easier to catch than him at the moment.’ He dodged servants setting up for the ball and made his way down to the gardens. He needed to talk with Elizabeth; he had to meet Jack up in Tortuga in a few days time, and as nice as catching up had been, he had to find out what she needed.
“Elizabeth…” The young man dodged another servant and hopped off the deck to avoid being taken out by some handymen.
“Will!” She beamed at him. “Come walk with me, it’s such a lovely day.”
He took her arm and walked over to the cliffs overlooking the town and harbor. Will breathed in the sea air and smiled, lost in memories of traveling with Jack.
“You look lost…” Elizabeth waved a hand in front of his face.
He turned towards her with a small smile. “Just memories. Now that I have you alone, what did you need? You asked me to come, saying it was urgent, something you needed help with.”
She eased away from him. “I was wondering if you had seen or heard from Norrington?”
“No, we try avoid British Naval ships,” Will teased then paused. “I haven’t seen him…”
“He resigned his commission…” Elizabeth turned back towards him. “He was humiliated…”
“I haven’t seen him, but I’ll watch for him.” The former blacksmith couldn’t help feel partially responsible. Elizabeth had chosen him, and he left. Norrington was too prideful to be second choice.
“Thank you, Will. You are a good man.” She laid a hand on his arm. “In spite of the influences.”
“Influences…”
“Elizabeth, there you are.” Governor Swann walked up to them. “If you expect to be ready for this ball, you need to go get dressed.”
“I’m going.” She kissed Will on the cheek. “See you tonight.”
“I’ll be here, but I must leave in the morning.” Will watched as Elizabeth left with her father. ‘What is she up to?’
~*~
“Elizabeth, this is a bad idea. Will Turner is not going to accept or go willingly into this…relationship.” The Governor tried to reason with his daughter. “He left with that pirate…”
“Jack is influencing him, now that he’s away from him, and we show him that society would accept him, he’ll be happy…”
“You honestly believe that?” He looked at his daughter incredulously.
“He loves me, he said so…I just had to get him away from that pirate.” Elizabeth kissed her father on the cheek. “Now let’s go announce my engagement.”
~*~
Will finished putting on the fancy suit, grimacing at the tight, itchy collar. Jack would laugh his ass off if he saw him this way. He could hear Jack’s voice in his head, ‘Fancy threads, there William’. His heart ached for his Mate. He wanted nothing than to go to him, and find a way out to defeat Davy Jones.
He pulled his coat off the chair, knocking over some papers on the desk. He knelt down and picked up the local newspaper. He stared at the headline.
~*~
“ELIZABETH!!!”
~*~
“I think young Turner just found out the purpose of the ball.” The Governor turned towards his daughter.
Elizabeth stepped behind her father as Will came running down the stairs with the paper in his hands. “What is the meaning of this?”
“It’s an announcement…”
“For our engagement,” he snarled, The vampire was seriously close to the surface. “I’m sorry Elizabeth but this isn’t going to take place.”
“Will…” She grabbed his arm. “You left me humiliated…”
He dropped his head. “I’m sorry, but my life is not here…”
The mansion doors banged open as troops ran in and surrounded the couple. The Governor stepped forward. “What is the meaning of this? Lord Beckett?”
“I have a gift for the lovely couple.” Cutler Beckett walked up to the young couple. He held out his hand, two documents were put into it. He handed them to the Governor.
“These are arrest warrants, for Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann.” He looked over at the Lord. “What is the meaning of this?”
“Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann are being arrested for helping a convicted criminal escape,” Lord Beckett eyed the two prisoners. “I also have one for Norrington…”
“He resigned his commission and left long ago,” The older nobleman informed him.
“What do you want?” A very deadly calm Will Turner asked.
“I’m looking for someone you two know, Jack Sparrow.” The nobleman stepped closer to them.
“Captain.” Both retorted.
“Take them to the prison.” He snapped his fingers, and the guards dragged them off.
‘Been there done that’ The vampire grinned slightly scaring the guards.
~ Black Pearl ~
Jack stared at the cloth with the key -- now they just had to find it. He opened up his compass once again. He closed his eyes and wished for his deepest desire. A smile appeared on his face when an image of Will lying asleep on their bed came to mind. He growled and tossed the compass on the desk.
He grabbed a bottle of rum and grimaced when it was empty. He hated not having Will by his side, the young blacksmith kept him grounded, kept him from doing stupid things like - selling his soul to a squid.
He made his way down into the depths of the Pearl. He could sense something was wrong; he squinted at the figure in the back against the wall. It couldn’t be. ‘Great, he shows up when Will isn’t around’
“Bootstrap?” Jack set the lamp down.
“Hello Jack,” The cursed man looked over at him.
‘I need rum to deal with this.’ “Is this a dream?”
“No.” The elder Turner answered.
“I thought so, or there would be rum.” An eyebrow rose when a bottle of rum was handed to him. He dusted off the sand and dirt. ‘So, do I tell my old friend that I’m not human’ he eyed the wet crustacean human, ‘not such a shock, but I’m not sure how’ll he take the fact I’m bedding his son’. “I see you were pressed into Davy Jones’s crew.”
“I volunteered.” Bootstrap sighed. “Tied up at the bottom of the ocean, not being able to die.” He looked around the hull. “I see you got the Pearl back.”
“Had help with that,” Jack paused. “Your son actually. Fine lad.”
“You did?” Bill sighed. “So he became a pirate despite everything.”
“He’s a good man,” the pirate said with sincerity. “Keeps me honest.”
Bootstrap turned towards his once shipmate. “He’s on the Pearl?”
“Not at the moment, business in Port Royal.” Sparrow eyed him. “I will not see him hurt during this business.”
The elder Turner stood up and looked at Jack, eyes narrowing. “If you have doomed my son…”
“You are one to speak, sending him the medallion knowing Barbossa would hunt him down.” Jack growled lightly. “I do thank ye, if you hadn’t we would have never met.”
“He comes for you.” Bootstrap took Jack’s hand. “Ye are a marked man, Jack Sparrow.”
The condemned man looked down at his hand, panic welled up as the black spot appeared. He ran up on deck screaming for the crew. He had to get to shore. The Pearl’s crew scrambled to get the ship moving.
‘Will…’ Jack leaned against the wall, his fear not for himself but for his Mate. He would do anything to see Will safe.
~ Port Royal ~
“What do you want?” Will demanded of Lord Cutler.
“I’m here to make a deal with you,” he said casually leaning against the desk.
The ex-blacksmith eyed him. “A deal? Elizabeth’s and my freedom.”
“Sparrow has something in his possession that I want.” Cutler opened a small chest and pulled out a leather pouch of papers. “In exchange for this item, his freedom working as privateer.”
“Somehow I don’t see Jack seeing that as freedom.” Will snorted. It was obvious the way Cutler was treating him that he honestly thought Will was with Elizabeth. But more importantly he had no clue that Will, himself, had been a pirate for the past year.
“The world is changing; if Jack Sparrow wants to survive he will have to find a new way of life.” The English Lord looked over at the wall, where a large map of the world was painted.
The pirate bit back a retort. “You want me to bring you back the Pearl in exchange for mine and Elizabeth’s freedom?”
Cutler turned towards the younger man shaking his head. “What I want is something a bit smaller. I think you know of the compass he carries.”
Will schooled his features. ‘He knows what the compass can do. What does he want with it?’ “It doesn’t work.”
“You just don’t know how to work it.” He had an evil smile on his face. “Do we have an accord?”
“I’ll do anything to save Elizabeth.” Will cringed at the statement. ‘And to think I actually believed that over a year ago.’
~ Jail ~
“Lord Cutler has given me the opportunity to go find Jack and bring back his compass.” Will explained to the Governor and his daughter. He stood back away from the cell Elizabeth was in, his emotions were still in conflict over what had happened earlier, and he was afraid he would lash out.
“Why does he want Jack’s compass?” Elizabeth asked curious.
“I have no idea, but he’ll let you free if I bring it back.” He cocked his head slightly and stared at her, a small smile on his face. “But tell me why I should come back?”
“William!” The Governor turned towards him.
“You see me as nothing but a pirate and I’ve been duped me into coming here.” Will held his ground. “How do I know this wasn’t a trap?”
“I would not put Elizabeth in jeopardy.” Mr. Swann retorted.
The ex-blacksmith bowed his head and stepped back conceding the point; no way would Governor Swann do anything that would remotely harm Elizabeth. “There still is the small fact of announcing an engagement that would not have taken place.”
“I did it for you.” Elizabeth said indignantly. “You’re not the Will Turner I knew…”
“No, I’m not; he died over a year ago.” Will shook his head before turning to the Governor. “I’ll do everything in my power to make sure nothing happens to Elizabeth.”
“Despite everything, Mr. Turner I’ve never doubted that you are a good man.”
~ Small Island ~
Will stared at the beached Black Pearl in shock. ‘What the hell has got Jack this spooked?’ He walked towards the jungle. ‘Goal for today is to find Jack, figure out what Cutler wants with the compass, get Elizabeth out of jail, not tell Jack about the engagement, save Jack’s soul, and then tie him to a bed.’
As he hung upside down staring at the natives he altered his goals. ‘Smack Jack and tie him to the bed. Then take care of everything else.’ Then everything went black.
~*~
Will blinked then focused on what was going on around him. He didn’t need to see him, to know his Mate as nearby. Though something was seriously wrong; he could feel the tension flowing off of him.
“JACK!” He yelled out shocked to see him sitting on a throne as if he was their chief.
The pirate moved off his throne and made some notions towards the natives. His Mate just eyed him.
“Jack we have a small situation…”
Sparrow looked over at this lover, made a few more hand motions and sat back down at the throne. As they carried Will away, the two made eye contact. Reassurances were passed between them, showing their love and devotion, knowing they would get through this.
~*~
Jack sighed in relief knowing his Mate was nearby. Now all he had to do was not be cooked and eaten. ‘Today’s goal: escape, tie Will to the bed, never let him go see the lass again, and not give my soul to Davy Jones.’
He watched as they kept building the fire. The crafty pirate saw his opportunity and took it. As he quickly made his way through the village trying to find an escape route, he couldn’t help but wonder, ‘What was Will referring to when he said small situation, I mean besides the one we’re in, not the going to be eaten one, but the Davy Jones one.’ He dodged into one of the huts looking for rope to climb down the cliffs. He was a bit surprised to see a variety of material from the East India Trading Company. Grabbing one of the items he moved back outside and stopped.
‘New goal - not get eaten.’ Jack huffed at the fire below him, ‘Can vampires be killed by fire?’
~ The Black Pearl ~
Jack and Will stared at the two passengers. “You’ve got to be kidding me?”
“We want to be part of your crew.” Pintel motioned between him and Ragetti.
“On the Pearl?” Jack sashayed around them. “What makes ye think I’ll let you onboard?”
“One cursed pirate to another.” Ragetti commented. “We have a kinda comradeship, knowing we’ll be eternal while loved ones die around us.”
“We’re not cursed,” Will pointed out. “And besides you kidnapped Miss Swann.”
“Well you really don’t care about that now, do you lad?” Pintel smiled. “Considering her announcement.”
Jack turned to his Mate. “Announcement?”
“She put in the paper her and Will were gettin’ hitched.” The thinner pirate smiled at Will. “It was talk of the town. I heard the dress was being shipped all the way from England.”
Will turned to his Mate. “Jack….” He stepped back at the low growl coming from the pirate.
“Mister Gibbs, I feel the need to stay in shallow waters and then take a trip inland.” Jack’s eyes never left the dark brown eyes of his Mate’s. “I’ll be in my quarters.”
“Aye Captain.” Gibbs made the sign of the cross. He turned and looked at the two cursed pirates. “Get to work.”
The two scrambled.
~*~
Will was back into the Captain’s quarters. He cringed when the door was slammed shut. “Jack…it’s easy to explain.”
A low growl answered him. “Mine.” He pushed his Mate towards the bed, his eyes almost black with lust and need. “She dared try to claim what wasn’t hers?”
Will looked up into dark brown eyes. He slipped a hand into the soft dreadlocks and pulled him into a kiss. “Only yours.”
The two fell onto the bed in a tangle of limbs. Clothes were ripped off at the desperate need to reconnect. Jack had the smaller man laid out under him, legs spread, moaning in need as he entered two fingers into him working over that sweet spot. It didn’t take long for Will to beg for more, his eyes topaz in color, fangs lowered, as he growled at his mischievous mate. Jack took the hint; he slicked himself up and slid into his mate in one thrust.
“Jack…” Will arched up and took him all the way in. “Harder…”
Sparrow pushed the younger man’s legs up and over his shoulders and then set a hard fast pace. The two were lost in the sensations between them: Will stroked his hard member, so close to the edge, but needing Jack to be with him to go over.
Soft dreadlocks teased over heated skin as Jack bent down and took his mouth into a deep kiss. The younger man arched his neck, giving his Mate access. Just as he felt the pirate’s calloused hands on his aching cock, a sharp bolt of pleasure exploded down his spine as he felt Jack’s fangs sink into his neck. The sensations sent him over the edge with a scream. Jack soon followed him with a hard thrust and a deep moan.
Will wrapped his arms and legs around his mate, softly talking in his ear. He ran his hand through the long hair and trinkets, soothing the pirate. “I’m not going anywhere, this is where I belong.”
“Aye, you, like I, belong here, on the Pearl together.” Jack whispered as he dozed off.
“I’ll never leave you,” he vowed.
~*~
“Well if it isn’t Jack Sparrow.” Tia Dalma smiled at the flamboyant pirate.
“Luv’.” He opened his arms and gave her a smile.
She paused and looked him over. “All things are not as they seem.” Her eyebrow went up as Will stepped in behind him. “Aye, things have changed for you, Jack.”
“Aye.” Jack smiled over at Will.
“What brings you here William Turner?” She leaned nearer to him up close and personal.
The vampire Mate growled and took her arm and pulled the priestess away. “No touching.”
“Do not worry Captain Sparrow, I would not dare get between a vampire and his Mate.” She sat down, eyeing the two men.
“A woman who knows the boundaries,” Jack grinned over at his Mate.
“We’re looking for this, more like what it opens.” Will got to business and laid the cloth out on the table.
“You’re looking for Davy Jones’s Chest.” Tia eyed the pair of pirates.
“Chest?” Will sat down.
“Legend say Davy Jones buried the one thing that gave him pain.” The priestess smiled. “What is the one thing a man loves more than anything…”
“The Sea…”
“Their boat…”
“A Woman.” Jack rolled his eyes. “Except for me… I have me Mate.”
“All is true. They say he ripped the one thing out that gave him the most pain.” She stood up and walked up to Jack. “His heart and put it in a chest and buried it.”
“The key opens the chest?” Will asked.
“Who controls his heart controls Davy Jones.” She held up her hand. “Let me see your hand Jack.”
Will turned away from the scene his thoughts flying. ‘Who controls the heart controls the sea. If they had the heart, they could free Jack.’ He looked over to see Tia Dalma giving Jack a jar of dirt. ‘Will just don’t question it.’ Jack held onto it tightly.
“How do we find this key?” The vampire asked.
“It’s on Davy Jones himself.” Tia sat down. “Find the Flying Dutchman, you find Davy Jones and the key.”
“Where is the Flying Dutchman?” Will leaned forward questioning. He would do anything to protect his mate.
~ The Black Pearl ~
Jack stood face to face with Davy Jones. He shrugged and acted callously towards the large squid, negotiating his freedom. ‘Has the year taught him nothing! Givin’ himself up for me. My rash, heroic mate, aye me Will, it is so you to sacrifice yourself for this ol’ pirate. Okay, new goal. Find Chest, kill Davy Jones, tie mate up to bed, have long discussion about rash heroic ideas.’ Jack smiled. He had an idea.
“He’s in love, with a girl no less. Servitude to you is nothing compared to holy matrimony to her.” Jack offered.
“Makes me wonder if you can live with yourself.” Davy Jones turned and looked at the pirate. “Sacrifice him while you run free.”
‘I will kill you for him.’ “Yeah I’m good.” The scheming pirate nodded. “So do we have an accord? Shall we shake or ink?”
~ The Dutchman ~
Will stared in shock. ‘My father?’ He was pushed into the mast and his shirt ripped off. The blows to his back were painful, but nothing that wouldn’t heal in time. He was happy he had fed on a crew member before heading out; he really didn’t feel like having fish for dinner.
He stormed away from the cursed souls and quickly put on his overcoat. It wouldn’t be good to let them see his unique talents. William Turner turned and stared at his father.
“I’m sorry.”
“For what exactly?” Will demanded.
“I’m not going to lie and say I didn’t want to go, because I did.” The eldest Turner said.
The vampire sighed. “I do understand to a point.”
“Jack said you were part of his crew.” Bootstrap pressed. “I had hoped…”
‘Jack didn’t mention seeing my father. I’m going to have words with my pirate.’ Will looked at his father. “Honestly, you really have no say or right to judge my life.”
“Aye, I do not.” The cursed soul turned away. “Are you happy?”
Will smiled. “Yes.”
~ Tortuga ~
“We need a hundred souls,” Jack moved with determination towards the town.
“Jack, Captain, you have no trouble condemning…”
“Not when it comes to saving Will.” The pirate turned towards his first mate, eyes dead serious, and golden in color.
“Aye, Captain.” Gibbs nodded. Only a few had ever seen the darker side of Captain Jack Sparrow, and if the rest of the souls on this earth were smart they never would.
~*~
Jack sat in the back corner dark and moody. Davy Jones had his Mate. His Will was in that crustacean’s clutches. ‘Why is everyone after my Mate? The lass. The squid.’ He eyed the surrounding poor souls in Tortuga. ‘Who else wants me Will’ He paused and looked over at the table. ‘Well, if it isn’t Commodore Norrington and looky at the time, it’s time to leave.’
“Am I not good enough for the famous Black Pearl?” The drunken ex-navy officer swayed slightly as he called out.
“You’re hired.” Captain Sparrow smiled. Another soul he wouldn’t mind dumping. ‘Aye there is one…’
Once the fighting broke out Jack grabbed Gibbs and the two made their way back to the Pearl. They didn’t nearly have enough souls to save Will. He would have to find the chest and save his Mate. He pulled out his compass, maybe if his wish was to save Will…
“Captain Sparrow!”
“You come to join me crew, welcome to the Pearl, but we are in a bit of a hurry.” Jack waved the sailor aboard.
“I’m searching for the man I love.”
The flamboyant pirate paused and looked at Gibbs. “My only love is for the sea…” He motioned to get rid of this one.
“I’m looking for Will.”
Gibbs moved closer to his Captain. “William wouldn’t be happy if you killed her.”
Jack smirked. “That’s now seven souls?”
“Aye.” The old seadog smiled.
Sparrow turned around a small smile on his face. “Elizabeth.”
“Where’s Will?” Elizabeth demanded.
“My dear he’s met with an unfortunate circumstance of getting pressed-ganged into working for Davy Jones,” Jack said. “What are you doing here?”
“I’m here to help him,” she defended herself haughtily
The cunning pirate smiled. “I think you can. You want with all your heart to save Will.”
“Yes.” The governor’s daughter stated firmly.
He handed her his compass. “This will point you towards your heart’s desire. To save Will we need to find Davy Jones’s Chest.”
“It carries his beating heart.” Ragetti made a motion with his hand as he walked by.
Elizabeth stepped back away from the two cursed pirates that tormented her. “Jack, are you telling me the truth?”
“Absolutely.” Jack purred.
~ The Flying Dutchman ~
“You didn’t have to do that.” Will shook his head. ‘Now I know why Jack wants to smack me half the time when I do rash things. Not that I’m ever going to admit that to him’.
“I couldn’t let you lose your soul to him.” The elder Turner said.
“It didn’t matter,” The vampire sighed.
Bill nodded in sudden understanding. “The key, you needed to know where it was.”
“My soul is well protected.” Will smiled thinking of his Mate.
The cursed man looked at his son. “What are you not telling me?”
“Things are not always what they seem.” The young man shrugged. “Now I just have to wait.”
“How are you going to steal it?” Bill asked. He stepped back at the sly grin on his son’s face. ‘He is a pirate.’
~*~
Will snuck into Davy Jones’s chambers. He bit back a growl, wanting nothing more than to kill the creature for preying on desperate souls. He swore at that moment this thing would not get Jack. He would do anything to see to that. As he slipped the key from the sleeping squid he couldn’t help but grin, ‘It seems I’ve learned a thing or two from my flamboyant Mate.’
He quickly moved through the ship, not making a sound. He tucked the key under his shirt and met his father by the side of the ship. “They will know you helped me.”
“What more can he do to me?” Bill shrugged. He knew he had to help his son escape Davy Jones at all costs.
“I swear to you,” Will gripped his shoulder. “I’ll free you from him.”
Bill nodded and gave him a smile. ‘I’m proud of you.’/i> “Go before the crew wakes up.”
~ The Black Pearl ~
“Amazing how Will set out despite ‘the situation’ to secure your freedom.” Jack eyed the woman that had tried to steal HIS Mate. “Yet ye are here with the pardons.”
“I persuaded Culter to let me go.” Elizabeth leaned up against the railing.
“What type of persuasion, luv?” The pirate smiled at her.
“The forceful kind.” She grinned.
Jack came close, his smiling fading. “The same persuasion you were using to get William to marry you?”
Elizabeth pushed him away from her. “Will is a good man, and deserves a good life.”
“Aye, he does.” The vampire nodded. ‘One day I’ll give it him. New goal! Out-live annoying pests, find a small island, retire, and live life or unlife life in a hammock curled next to me Mate…oh and torment Warrick a few times a year.’
Jack shook his head and focused on the lass who kept on speaking. “You’re a good man and one day I’ll just prove it. One day that moment will come…” Elizabeth kept speaking.
“I love those moments.” The pirate grinned as he walked away. “I like to wave at them as they go by.”
“You wait and see Captain. And you want to know why you’ll do the right thing?” She grinned at him getting close. “Curiosity. To know what it feels like to do it, go against the grain and surprise everyone.”
Jack bit back a smirk and a retort. ‘I know what it feels like to do it, luv.’ “The irony here luv, is the fact despite your intentions to make an honest man out of Will,” ‘MY MATE’ he growled low but kept his flippant attitude. “You are drawn to this life. Not living up to a certain standard, letting go and being a pirate. Why? Ye ask. Curiosity.”
Elizabeth huffed and stormed away from him. Jack sauntered off towards his cabin. He missed Will desperately and hoped his Mate was safe.
~ Merchant Ship ~
Will huddled under the blanket, his focus and goal was to get back to Jack. He sipped the hot tea the captain had given to him, barely focusing on what they were saying. The ex-blacksmith looked up to respond to a question when something caught his eye.
Elizabeth’s dress from the ball.
”Where did you get this?” He picked it up. ‘What was she doing here?’
“It’s the wedding gown of a spirit.” The first mate smiled. “At first we thought it was a curse…”
“But it turned out to be a good spirit lead us to Tortuga, where we made quite the profit.” The Captain smiled.
The ship suddenly lurched. Will ran out onto the deck to see the Flying Dutchman surface. He closed his eyes dread settling in his stomach. Davy Jones would stop at nothing to get that key.
“I’ve doomed us all.”
~ The Black Pearl ~
Elizabeth sighed. “I really thought I would be married by now.”
Sparrow leaned against the stairs. “As a Captain I could marry you.” He waved his arm around. “Just pick one… Norrington over there was willing and wanting, maybe he would like your womanly charm. Or Mister Gibbs….never mind. Cotton’s parrot a nice right catch.” He paused looking over his crew. “Ragetti is handsome, got him a good glass eye…but Pintel might not like having ye around.”
She glared at him. “I’m not marrying one of your crew.”
“Ah good, we have that settled, you won’t be trying to steal me William then.” Jack got up and sauntered off. He turned back around, eyes deadly serious. “He’s not on the market, so hands off the lad.”
Elizabeth’s eyes narrowed as she confronted Jack. “Will can make his own decisions.”
“Aye he can. So no making any for him.” Jack paused. “I’m telling you Miss Swann, back off from me Will.”
“Your Will.” She stepped back and laughed. “HE wouldn’t choose a pirate like you.”
“Captain.” Gibbs stepped in front of the vampire trying to prevent him from attacking. “We’re here Jack.”
Captain Sparrow turned and sauntered off. ‘If she touches my mate….’
~ Beach ~
“WILL!” Elizabeth ran up to him then stopped as he walked by her and smiled at Jack.
“How did you escape?” Jack asked casually.
“Sea turtles.” Will grinned.
“Hard buggers to tame aren’t they?” Sparrow rolled his eyes and gestured with his hand.
“Kinda like you.” The vampire removed the key from his neck. “Is that the chest?”
“Aye, did you see ye father?” Jack asked as they moved back toward the chest.
“Yes I did.” Will nodded. “Now that we have the heart we can kill it and free him…”
Jack noticed Norrington going for his sword. “Not so fast Will.”
He looked up at his Mate. “Jack…”
“I need the heart to free me from yon beastie…” He tilted his head slightly. “So I can’t let you do that.”
“I promised my father.” Will stood up pulling his sword, following Jack’s lead. ‘What…’ He turned when another sword joined theirs.
“I’ll be taking the key, Mister Turner.” Norrington pushed the two back from the chest.
“So ye true colors come out.” The pirate stepped back.
“I’m calling it Atonement.” The ex-officer attacked.
“Stop this at once!” Elizabeth screamed. “I will not tolerate this.”
The three men paused and looked at her. She smiled at them. “Good now…” They started fighting again. “Men!”
The three men continued to fight, moving off the beach and into a run-down mill. Will grumbled as he chased after Jack again. ‘That pirate is getting tied to a bed soon. What is going on in that wily insane pirate head of his?’ Will grabbed the key and ran onto the roof, Norrington a few steps behind him. The large mill wheel came into view. ‘This day is just not turning out the way I planned it.’

‘New goal, once my head stops spinning…’ Will fell off of the wheel and into the water. ‘Smack mate once I figure which of the three is him. Destroy the heart. Make Norrington marry Elizabeth. Ravish mate.’
“Jack where’s the chest?” Will asked as he leaned against the boat.
“Will!” Jack turned at the sound of his mate’s voice. Only then realizing he had the oar in his hand. He stared at his unconscious mate and cringed. Pushed the body into the boat and headed back to the Pearl. ‘Drat, the lass showed up.’
“What happened to Will?” She demanded.
“Slight accident luv’ nothin’ to concern yourself.” Jack rowed out to the Pearl. “Norrington get away?”
“Yes.” Elizabeth held Will’s head soothing back his hair.
Jack growled.

“I want you to get out of here.” Will pulled Jack aside. “We’ve only out-run it for a while. You know what he’ll send after us.”
“I’m not leavin’ ye.” Jack pulled him close. “I didn’t like when we parted, couldn’t think right.”
The vampire held his mate close. “I’m here Jack.”
“Don’t make me leave,” he whispered.
Will sighed. “I want you safe.”
‘Only safe with ye.’ Jack kissed him softly. “I won’t leave you to fight my battle.”
Will smacked him. “Our battle! We are Mates Jack Sparrow.”
“Captain.” The pirate whined as he rubbed his sore head. “Ye hit me.”
The sane pirate looked at his Mate. “Oar?”
Jack moved away arms gesturing. “It wasn’t me.”
~*~
Will looked over the railing to see Elizabeth kissing Jack. He growled low in his throat ready to go and rip her from his Mate. ‘Okay, now I understand Jack’s growling moments with her. I’m going to have to have a long talk with Miss Swann.’ He blinked when she got into the boat without Jack.
“Where’s Jack?” Will demanded.
“He decided to stay behind.” She wouldn’t look him in the eyes.
Fear went through him. ‘Jack!’ He stood up to go back up when the world went black.
Gibbs stared at her. “What have ye done?”
“Saved us all,” she yelled.
The first mate climbed back up to see Jack tied to the ship. He moved to climb aboard.
“NO!” Jack screamed. “Get Will out of here.”
“Jack, Captain I can’t leave you.” Gibbs shook his head.
“Gibbs.” The pirate’s tone was sober and serious. “Save my Mate. Get Will out of here.”
“If you die…”
“Luv’” Jack stretched his arms out. “I’m Captain Jack Sparrow.”
The old seaman climbed back into the boat and motioned to Cotton to get them out of there. He looked at Elizabeth and shook his head.
Ragetti looked at her. “I hope your soul can handle the price.”
“I hope you can face the consequences.” Pintel added his eyes drifting to Will. “You don’t separate a vampire and his mate.”
Elizabeth stared at them. “Vampire?”
~ Tia Dalma’s ~
Will moaned as he slowly came to, he glanced around. A sudden emptiness filled him. “JACK!”
“Shhh… William Turner.” Tia sat down next to him.
“Where’s Jack?” Will stood up and moved into the main hall. His eyes landed on Elizabeth. Everything came back. He snarled, fangs lengthening, his eyes topaz in color. Elizabeth moved behind Gibbs, who approached Will cautiously. “She killed my mate.”
“William.” Tia stepped in front of him. “Ye Mate is not dead, just gone.”
“You’re here.” Ragetti pointed out. “If Jack was dead so would ye be.”
The vampire stepped back, calming only slightly. He looked over at the dark skinned woman. “I can’t feel him.”
The voodoo priestess soothed his brow. “He is here.” She patted his heart. “As ye are with him.”
“I have to find him.” Will said his voice shaking with need. “I need him.”
“He’s at the end of the world.” Tia turned towards the others, her eyes and tone serious. “If ye could, would you go, do anything to bring him back?”
“I would die to be with him, kill to save him.” The vampire snarled.
Tia smiled brightly at him. “As he would for ye.” She looked at the others. “Well?”
“Aye!” Gibbs stood up and took a swig for courage.
“Us too.” Pintel added as he nodded with Ragetti.
The rest of the crew screamed out the Aye’s and all turned towards Elizabeth.
“Will you ease your guilt by sacrificing your life?” Tia stared at her. “Or go home and live ye pretty life, knowing you condemned two souls.”
Elizabeth looked up, tears in her eyes. “I will do anything to make this right.”
Tia nodded with a small smile, one day two souls would come together to make amends and heal. She just hoped they found Jack in time to stop Cutler’s control over Davy Jones.
“Then ye will need a Captain. One who has been to the ends of the Earth and back.” She turned towards the stairs.
A shiny black boot could be seen as a man stepped down the stairs. Will moved forward a smile appearing on his face at the sight of the pirate.
“What has Jack got himself into now?” Warrick hooked his hand in his belt and shook his head.
